摘要： Bookbinding unit to avert sheets coming loose and other problems that, due to adhesive leakage in coating an adhesive onto a sheaf and pasting on a cover sheet, lead to poor binding. Provided with unit housing, sheaf retainer for retaining in an adhesive-application position sheets collated into book blocks, adhesive container for storing hot-melt adhesive, heater built-in to the adhesive container for melting the adhesive at a predetermined temperature, temperature controller for controlling the heater, applicator for applying adhesive to sheaves, and cover binder disposed downstream of the adhesive-application location for binding sheaves coated with adhesive together with cover sheets. The controller has a first sensor for detecting the adhesive temperature the adhesive container, and a second sensor for detecting ambient temperature inside the unit housing, and controls the heating temperature of the heater according to the temperatures detected by the first and second sensors.

摘要： First document/image data is printed onto a sequence of sheets that includes sheets of a given size, and sheet(s) of a size that in at least one dimension is larger than the sheets of the given size. At the same time the first document/image data is being printed, second document/image data, i.e., foldout data, is printed onto the outer margin, i.e., a foldout portion, of the sheet(s) of the larger size. The larger-size, foldout sheet(s) is then folded so as to be creased near its overlap with the given-size sheets, and is collated into the sequence of the given-size sheets to form a bundle that is then bound. Thereafter trimming to size the non-bound edge(s) of the bundle slices away the crease in the foldout sheet, leaving the foldout cut-away as an insert tucked into the booklet.

Bookbinding-finishing method for collating printed sheets into bundles and binding together the spine-portion edges includes: an image-forming step of sequentially forming images on a plurality of sheets, based on predetermined image data; a fold-process step of folding the printed sheets from the image-forming step; a stacking step of collating into bundles the printed sheets from the image-forming step and/or the sheets folded in the fold-process step; a bookbinding step of binding together the spine-portion edges of the sheet bundles collated in the stacking step; and a trim-finishing step of trimming true at least the fore-edge of the sheet bundles bound in the bookbinding step.

摘要： A sheet post-processing device includes a conveying section that conveys a paper sheet; a punch section that punches punch holes in the paper sheet conveyed by the conveying section; a stacker section that stores the paper sheet in which the punch holes are punched by the punch section; a binding section that binds a paper sheet bundle stored in the stacker section with a binding member; and a controller that controls the above sections. The controller selectively performs a ring binding mode and a direct binding mode. The ring binding mode is a mode in which punch holes are punched in the paper sheet by the punch section and then the binding member is made to penetrate the punch holes for binding. The direct binding mode is a mode in which the binding member is directly driven into the paper sheet bundle without punching the punch holes in the sheet.

The folded sheet bundle passes through the support unit by the gripper member to cause the folding loop to be sequentially pressed by the plurality of rows of pressing roller pairs.

摘要： In a method of calculating effective power relating to a capacitor, the waveform of a periodic voltage applied to a capacitor is set. The capacitance of a desired capacitor is input. The waveform of the periodic voltage applied to both ends of the capacitor is subjected to Fourier expansion. More specifically, the periodic voltage is Fourier-expanded in terms of sine and cosine-wave series of high-order frequency components. Further, an effective power consumed by the capacitor is calculated using data regarding temperature characteristics, voltage characteristics and a frequency characteristic of the capacitance and dielectric tangent of the capacitor.
