摘要： In an apparatus for detecting and displaying a residual quantity of lower or under thread (12) of a sewing machine, an under-thread bobbin (10) is provided with transparent flange portions (10a) permitting the light rays emitted from a light emitting device of a photosensor (19) to pass through the flange portions (10a ) of the bobbin (10). The light rays having passed through the bobbin (10) are then reflected by a reflecting means or mirror (21) affixed to a back surface of a bed of the sewing machine to impinge on a light receiving device of the photosensor (19) so that the photosensor (19) detects the residual quantity of the lower thread (12) of the sewing machine. In the photosensor (19), the light emitting device is integrally formed with the light receiving device to save space.

A manually operable controller, such as a foot pedal, is connected to the conversion switch. The circuit means connects the conversion switch to the micro-computer in the electronic sewing machine. When the conversion is in the second position, the manually operable controller will control the needle swing amplitude.

摘要： In a sewing machine having a machine controller for controlling the rotational speed of the machine and a needle amplitude, adjusting device, a machine control power source switch is provided which is manipulated to produce a switch-over signal, which is identified in a predetermined lapse of time to avoid an erroneous operation of the sewing machine which may be caused by a simple switching operation of the power source switch. The power source switch is released to return to the initial position and is operated again to switch back the machine controller to the function controlling the rotation speed of the sewing machine. The change-over circuit with transmission gates is provided in the sewing machine, which is electrically connected to the amplitude adjusting device and the machine controller and to the control power source switch, respectively.
