摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a gate electrode formed on a substrate; a active pattern and an ohmic contact pattern formed to overlap with the gate electrode with a gate insulating film therebetween; a source electrode formed on the active pattern and the ohmic contact; a drain electrode formed to oppose the source electrode; a pixel electrode overlapped with the drain electrode and directly contacted with the drain electrode; a common electrode formed to overlap with the pixel electrode with a passivation film therebetween and having a plurality of holes; and wherein the plurality of holes of the common electrode are only formed on a region in which the pixel electrode is formed.

摘要： A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device is disclosed. The method includes forming a gate electrode, a gate pad, a gate line on a substrate by using a first mask; forming a gate insulating film, an active layer, an ohmic contact layer and a conductive layer in sequence above the substrate including the gate electrode, the gate line and the gate pad; forming an active pattern, an ohmic contact pattern, source/drain electrodes, a data line and a data pad by using a second mask; forming a pixel electrode on the gate insulating film in a pixel region by using a third mask, to contact with the drain electrode; exposing the active pattern by etching the ohmic contact pattern using the source/drain electrodes as an etching mask; forming a passivation film above the substrate including the source/drain electrodes, the data line and the data pad; forming a first contact hole for exposing the gate pad and a second contact hole for exposing the data pad by etching the passivation and/or gate insulating films using a fourth mask; and forming a common electrode having a plurality of holes on the substrate by using a fifth mask.

摘要： A LOG-type liquid crystal display panel and a fabricating method thereof that reduces a line resistance of a LOG-type signal line group within the confined area. In the panel, a picture display part has a plurality of liquid crystal cells, each of which is arranged at each crossing area between gate lines and data lines. Line on glass type signal lines are provided at an outer area of the picture display part by a line on glass system to apply driving signals required for driver integrated circuits for driving the gate lines and the data lines and to connect the driver integrated circuits to each other. The line on glass type signal lines are separately provided at different metal layers having an insulating film therebetween.

The device and method increase contact stability by forming a contact hole exposing the lateral and upper surfaces of a metal layer using a diffraction mask. The device includes a lower metal layer on a substrate; a passivation layer on the substrate including the lower metal layer; a contact hole on the passivation layer so as to expose the lateral and upper surfaces of the lower metal layer; and an upper metal layer in the contact hole and over the passivation layer, and in contact with the exposed lateral and upper surface of the lower metal layer.
