The cassette further has a housing with an exterior and interior members each with a main wall which extends axially and part way around the axis, the main wall of each having an axially extending first margin. In the cassette one of the members is rotatable around the axis between a closed position in which first margins of the housing members abut one another so that a web roll with a core seated in the core retainer is light tightly enclosed by the housing, and an open position in which the first margins are separated to expose an axially extending cassette opening and in which the rotatable member further radially overlaps the other member than when in the open position. A method of loading such a cassette and dispensing photosensitive material, is also provided.

摘要： There is described a tray-like cartridge for supplying thin delicate sheets of dye done film in a thermal printer. The cartridge has a slidable lid which normally covers a portion of the cartridge containing a factory-supplied package of film. The lid has a specially shaped window through which sheets of film may be drawn one-by-one from the cartridge for use in the printer. When the cartridge is not in the printer, the lid window is closed. This keeps the film free of dust and protects it from damage. The shape of the lid and its window act in conjunction with a film feeding mechanism of the printer to insure absolute reliability in the separating and feeding of individual sheets of film. Another portion of the cartridge serves as a waste bin for used sheets of the film.

摘要： A cassette and method of use, which cassette can receive and rotatably mount a roll of photosensitive medium web. The cassette includes a housing having a first section and a second section with respective, mating margins extending in a transverse direction between opposite ends of the cassette. The second section is movable with respect to the first section between a closed position in which the mating margins abut one another so that the housing is maintained light tight, and an open position in which the margins are spaced apart. The margins can define between them a slit through which the web of photosensitive medium can pass. The cassette further has a lock assembly with at least one lock member movable between a locked position in which it restrains the second section from moving from the closed position, and a released position in which the cassette can be opened. The lock assembly further includes a handle adjacent a first end of the cassette connected to the at least one lock member so that the at least one lock member can be moved between the locked and released positions by manual movement of the handle.

摘要： A method and apparatus are disclosed for producing thermal slide transparencies. Receiver elements mounted in open slide frames are positioned on a platen in an exposure station, and donor elements in the form of cut sheets are positioned over the receiver element prior to exposure. A laser beam, modulated in accordance with an information signal, is scanned across the surface of the donor element in order to provide the necessary thermal energy to effect a transfer of dye from a donor element to a receiver element. The elements are moved in a cross-scan direction during exposure by means of a lead screw connected to the platen. In order to form a color slide, successive donor elements of the necessary colors are moved into register with the receiver element. After the image has been formed on the receiver element, the receiver element is moved to a fusing station where the image is fixed. Sections of the slide frame are then joined together to complete the slide.

The intercore includes a plurality of stop members spaced along at least part of the length of the intercore, and which are urged resiliently radially outward between retracted and extended positions. As a result, a core can be slid over the stop members while they are in their retracted position and a first end of a core can abut against a forward facing side of any of the stop members when in an extended position, to prevent the first end from rearward movement. In another aspect, an elongated intercore is provided with a plurality of ring guides spaced apart from one another along a forward end of the intercore and each extending about the intercore. This aspect additionally includes a resilient wire ring which can be positioned within any of the ring guides and restrain forward movement of the core.

摘要： An athermally compensated printhead includes a laser diode having predetermined characteristics for generating a beam of light, a diode mount, cooling means, a collimator lens, and a len mount. The diode mount is formed of a predetermined material with a predetermined coefficient of thermal expansion for mounting the laser diode in the printhead. The cooling means is used to maintain the laser diode at a substantially constant operating temperature for longer life and to avoid wavelength changes. The collimator lens has characteristics which provide predetermined changes in focal length versus changes in ambient temperature over a predetermined temperature range. The len mount is formed of a predetermined material having a predetermined coefficient of thermal expansion for mounting the collimator lens adjacent a first major surface of the diode mount to receive the beam of light from the laser diode. The predetermined coefficient of thermal expansion of the material of the lens mount is chosen to compensate for the changes in focal length of the collimator lens versus changes in ambient temperature over the predetermined temperature range.
