The absorbing component comprises one or more carrier structures that support a fabric/textile treated with an odor absorption coating. In one position, the carrier structures can be placed on the wall of the duct such that a plane of the support structure is parallel to and in physical contact with the fluid flow within the duct. The carrier structures may also be placed in another position within the duct such that at least two surfaces of the carrier structure that extend in a longitudinal direction along its length are parallel to and in the path of the fluid flow within the duct.
