The folding and heat-seal steps both take place while the box remains positioned in the pocket, with the folders and heat-seal device operating sequentially and in such a way that the overlapping extremities of the wrapper are secured before bring released by the folders, thereby ensuring that the wrapper remains taut.

The ends of the strips are trimmed automatically by separate cutters.
