    • An audio-player comprises a loading-unit, a memory, an operating-unit, a dubbing-unit, a playback-unit, and a display-unit. The loading-unit loads a disc. The memory has a plurality of data-memory-areas. The operating-unit has direct keys for selecting the specific data-memory-area in the plurality of data-memory-areas. The dubbing-unit dubs sound-data recorded on the disc with a proper disc identification number which the disc has, into the data-memory-area selected by the direct key. The playback-unit plays back the sound-data stored in the selected memory area. The display-unit has a quantity-display-area and a location-display-area. The quantity-display-area has a plurality of display parts. The quantity of memory used for storing the sound-data in each of the data-memory-areas is indicated in each of the display parts. The location where the sound-data is being played back from or is stored in the memory, is indicated in the location-display-area.

    • A cassette holding device for a tape recorder wherein the shock resistance thereof can be assured sufficiently with a simple construction during transportation and during normal use of the tape recorder and protection of a cassette holder, capstan shafts and a tape cassette and reduction in cost and facility in use of the entire tape recorder can be attained.     • A rotatably supporting structure is composed in combination of a raised portion and its matching annular recess.     • An auto-reverse tape recorder has an FF(fast forward) control, rewinding control and restraining members. The FF control member is movable forward so that when a magnetic head and a pinch roller are at operating positions, the head and roller are once caused to retreat toward their stop positions. The FF control member causes the head and roller to return to their operating positions when the FF control member returns to its non-operated position. The rewinding control member is movable forward so that when the head and roller are at the operating positions, the head and roller are once caused to retreat toward stop positions. The rewinding control member causes the head and roller to return to the operating positions when the rewinding control member returns to its non-operated position. The restraining member is operable in association with forward and return movements of the rewinding control member so that when the rewinding control member is in the course of movement, the restraining member restrains the movement of a rotation detecting member and the transmission of a biasing force from the detecting member to a tape running direction changeover mechanism is prevented to actuate the mechanism.

    • A tape recorder has a base plate, at least one reel shaft, a head holder and a magnetic head. It further comprises a guide piece, a guide groove and at least one projection. The guide piece is made of a synthetic resin and mounted on the base plate (or the head holder). The guide groove is cut in the head holder (or the base plate) for receiving the guide piece to thereby restrict the direction in which the head holder moves. The projection is provided on the head holder (or the base plate). The end of the guide piece rides on the projection when the head holder is brought to a position where the magnetic head contacts a magnetic tape, whereby the projection urges the head holder against the base plate.
