摘要： A process for preparing a tetrafluoroethylene/fluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) copolymer comprising polymerizing tetrafluoroethylene and fluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) in an aqueous suspension system which comprises a mixed medium of water and a fluorohydrocarbon or a chlorofluorohydrocarbon in a volume ratio of from 1:1 to 10:1 at a temperature of from 0.degree. to 25.degree. C. in the presence of a polymerization initiator of the formula:[Cl(CF.sub.2).sub.n --COO].sub.2 (I)wherein n is an integer of 1 to 10, the copolymer obtained by the process having a small number of unstable terminal groups and excellent flex life.

摘要： A copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and a perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) having the formula (I):CF.sub.2 .dbd.CF--O--Rf (I)wherein Rf is a perfluoroalkyl group having 3 or 4 carbon atoms; and said copolymer having 1 to 10% by weight of the perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) units, having 7 to 20, per 10.sup.6 carbon atoms, of terminal groups --CONH.sub.2, having substantially no --CH.sub.2 OH and no --COF, and having a melt viscosity at 380.degree. C. of 0.1.times.10.sup.4 to 100.times.10.sup.4 poise and a preparation process thereof. The tetrafluoroethylene copolymer is thermally stable and has excellent powder properties. Molded articles thereform have a few bubbles and excellent dimensional stability on heating.

According to this process, the low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene which is useful as an additive to various materials is produced in the solvent which has a low ozone destruction factor or does not destroy the ozone, under economically advantageous low pressure which can be controlled safely.
