    • A needle-free injection device, including a plunger and a spring operatively coupled with the plunger. The plunger is slidably disposed within a fluid chamber, is retractable to draw injectable fluid into the fluid chamber through an injection orifice, and may be advanced within the fluid chamber to forcibly eject injection fluid out through the injection orifice. The spring is configured to be compressed during arming of the injection device, and decompressed during discharge to forcibly advance the plunger within the fluid chamber. The injection device further includes an actuator operable to cause the spring to be compressed during arming of the injection device, and selectively operable prior to decompression of the spring to cause the plunger to be moved to a desired position within the fluid chamber.

    • A cartridge and nozzle assembly for use in a needless injection system is provided. The assembly includes: (1) a cartridge having a plunger disposed at a rearward end thereof, and including a throat at a forward portion thereof, with a displaceable outlet valve initially disposed within the throat, the outlet valve being formed of resilient material and having at least one axial channel defined in the forward and rearward portions thereof, between which is disposed a channel-less valve body; (2) a nozzle for receiving the cartridge, the nozzle defining a rearward, cartridge-receiving portion, and including a forward portion terminating in and defining a valve abutment surface with an injection orifice defined therein and a recessed portion, the recessed portion being configured to receive the valve when the valve is displaced to a forwardly disposed position such that the valve is disposed against the valve abutment surface, and so that the inner portion of the cartridge has fluid access to the orifice via the axial channels and around the valve body; and (3) a seal disposed between the cartridge and the nozzle adjacent the forward portions thereof for at least reducing leakage of injectate therebetween.

    • A pressure hypodermic syringe designed to inject liquid medication includes the feature of simultaneously utilizing a pressure injection system and of comprising basically the two elements that characterize each and every syringe using conventional hypodermic needles, that is, a transparent graded cylinder where the desired medication dose is inserted, and a piston for intake and injection of the dose by displacing itself inside the transparent graded cylinder. The present invention is characterized by being the only hypodermic injection device to dispense with the use of needles while at the same time retaining the simplicity and safely qualities of conventional syringes, since the user may visually set the desired dose for injection and check for the presence of air bubbles before each injection.
