    • A medical electrode is provided for detecting and transmitting electric pulses from the body surface of a patient to an electric pulse processor. The medical electrode includes an outer carrier and at least one inner carrier (3, 3′, 3″). The outer carrier and the inner carrier are connected at a defined number of geometrically distributed points (2). The points (2) form an outer edge (4) of the inner carrier and are perforated, so that the outer carrier and the inner carrier can be separated at these points (2). An adhesion area (5) is formed on the underside of the outer carrier (1) and of the inner carrier for adhering the medical electrode to the patient body surface. A contact element (7) is provided with a conductive area arranged concentrically to the contact element (7) for establishing contact with the body surface of the patient. The contact element (7) and the conductive area (8) are arranged within the inner carrier.

    • A device for detecting and transmitting electrical pulses from the body surface of a patient to device processing the electrical pulses. The device for detecting includes at least two electrical leads of different lengths, at least one electrical insulating material surrounding the at least two electrical leads, a connecting port for connection to the device for processing the electrical pulses at one end of the at least two electrical leads and a recess in the electrical insulating material of the at least two electrical leads, so that an electric contact can be established with the skin surface of the patient. The two leads of different lengths have a ratio of the electrical resistance to the length of the leads and/or the ratio of the impedance to the length of the leads that is/are greater in the shorter lead than in the longer lead. With the construction artifacts caused by external sources of interference are easily filtered out and it can be manufactured at a low cost, so as to be employed for disposable use.

    • A method for producing an integrated circuit wherein a substrate is provided that includes a circuit structure and a first metalization structure disposed thereover comprising at least one layer with plated holes extending therethrough and into the circuit structure. The plated holes are insulated and a planarizing layer is disposed over the metalization structure. A handling wafer is applied over the substrate permitting the substrate to be thinned such that metalized connections disposed in the plated holes are exposed. A second metalization structure is provided and connected to the circuit structure and/or the first metalization structure by the metalized connections.

    • A bond is created between a gypsum matrix and titanium or zirconium based coupling coating applied onto a glass fiber during gypsum board cure. The commercially available titanium or zirconium based coupling has a generic formula of the type [RO-}-nTi—[—OXR′Y]4-n or [RO-}-nZr—[—OXR′Y]4-n. These coupling compositions chemically bond to glass fibers by replacing the —OH groups present on the glass fibers in aqueous solutions with Ti—O or Zr—O bonds. In order to bond with calcium ions in hydrated gypsum crystals, the X functionality is selected to be a phosphate or pyrophosphato group. The bond between the glass fiber and the titanium or zirconium based coupling composition is due to the formation of a monolayer, while the bond between the hydrated gypsum crystal and the coupling composition is intermittent due the acicular structure of gypsum crystals. The titanium or zirconium based coupling composition coating on glass fibers bonded to the gypsum matrix results in load transfer between the gypsum matrix and the glass fibers, resulting in improved flexure strength and nail pullout resistance. The Titanate/Zirconate can also be used as a board mechanical properties enhancing agent without addition of glass fiber.
