摘要： A wind turbine is provided having a drivetrain with a gearbox and a gearbox housing, at least one gear stage and an output shaft coupled within the housing. The gear stage exerts an axial thrust force on the output shaft during operation of the wind turbine. A generator includes a generator housing and an input shaft connected to the output shaft of the gearbox. The generator includes a rotor and a stator coupled to the generator housing. The rotor is coupled to the input shaft such that the rotor is positioned radially inward from the stator. At least one bearing is shared between the gearbox output shaft and the generator input shaft, and this bearing carries a portion of the axial thrust force. The generator is skewed to exert an opposing axial thrust force on the input shaft, so that the axial thrust force carried by the bearing is reduced.

摘要： A subsea pump drive employs a permanent magnet (PM) motor to drive a subsea pump. The PM motor rotor in one embodiment is canned with a non-magnetic material such as inconel that can provide a desired level of corrosion protection. The PM motor provides a subsea pump drive that is smaller and more efficient, having a high power factor than a subsea pump drive utilizing a conventional induction motor. The PM motor subsea pump drive eliminates the necessity for a topside storage tank and associated fluid transfer lines when the motor rotor is cooled with processed fluid.

The wind turbine generator includes a core and a plurality of stator windings circumferentially spaced about a generator longitudinal axis, a rotor rotatable about the generator longitudinal axis wherein the rotor includes a plurality of magnetic elements coupled to a radially outer periphery of the rotor such that an airgap is defined between the stator windings and the magnetic elements and the plurality of magnetic elements including a radially inner periphery having a first diameter. The wind turbine generator also includes a bearing including a first member in rotatable engagement with a radially inner second member, the first member including a radially outer periphery, a diameter of the radially outer periphery of the first member being substantially equal to the first diameter, the rotor coupled to the stator through the bearing such that a substantially uniform airgap is maintained.

摘要： A machine includes a rotatable rotor assembly having a number of salient poles. The machine further includes a stationary stator assembly having concentric inner and outer stators, at least one stationary superconducting field coil and at least one stator coil. The stationary superconducting field coil is disposed between the inner and outer stators and is mounted on at least one of the inner and outer stators. The stationary superconducting field coil and the salient poles are configured relative to each other, such that when the rotor assembly is rotated relative to the stator assembly around a predetermined axis, a rotating magnetic field is produced with an airgap flux direction substantially along the predetermined axis. The interaction between the stationary superconducting field coil and the rotating poles provides the only source of a time varying magnetic flux supplied to the stator coil.
