摘要： In combination, a guide post having a longitudinal slot and a ball bearing cage adjustably receiving the post and adapted for relative longitudinal and rotary movements, there being an internal annular recess in said cage inwardly of one end. A truncated roller bearing with opposed hemispherical surfaces and opposed flat sides is guidably positioned within the slot with the roller bearing maintaining a rolling point contact with the bottom wall of the slot and with the roller flat sides loosely and slidably registerable with the side walls of the slot. One of the hemispherical surfaces of the bearing being positioned and retained within an internal annular recess within the ball cage. A fastener within the profile of the guide post adjacent one end of the longitudinal slot traps the roller within the longitudinal slot and ball cage.

A coaxial guide sleeve upon a support adjustably receives the cage and post. A coiled spring within the sleeve is mounted upon the support and yieldably supports the ball cage. An apertured cap upon the sleeve loosely receives the cage and has an inlet adapted for connection to an air source. Pressurized air is directed into the cap for angular impingement upon the cage for rotating the cage relative to the sleeve. As a modification the spring is replaced by a pressurized air source.

An annular stop within the cage registers with an annular snap ring secured around a portion of the guide post limiting relative longitudinal movements of the cage and post, with the cage free for rotary adjustments relative to the guide post. A guide sleeve axially receives the guide post and sleeve with the cage rotatable relative to the guide post and sleeve when the cage and sleeve are separated. The guide post and sleeve are projected into and secured to the relatively movable die shoes of a die set assembly.

An apertured swivel cap is mounted upon the guide post and includes a shank extending into the cage recess. An annular detent on the shank is interlocked with the stop shoulder. A guide pin is threaded through the cap and into the guide post slot and is loosely and slidably registerable with side walls of the slot. The pin traps the cap upon the guide post for longitudinal movements. The cooperating stop shoulder and detent retains the cage upon the cap but for free relative rotary movements.
