    • A device for the separation of solid objects (9) from fluid flowing in a conduit tube (2) includes a housing that includes a tubular outer wall (3) and a tubular inner wall (4). Between these is delimited a collecting space (8). Concentrically relative to the inner wall (4) is provided a rotation-symmetrical central body (12) which at opposing ends cooperates with flow converting devices (15, 16), which transform incoming flow to a rotative motion and outgoing flow to an axial motion. In the inner wall (4) are recessed tangentially separated holes (20) of elongated shape, through which the scrap objects may pass and be collected in a collecting space (8). In the collecting space (8) a calm flow operation is obtained which guarantees that collected scrap objects are not carried away and returned to the main fluid flow through the separation device.

    • A strainer device for filtering water to an emergency cooling system in a nuclear power plant containment area having a lower part which forms a pool in which the strainer device is mounted. The device includes a strainer housing with separate strainer walls between which a flexible strainer means operates. The unit is arranged to be kept in a first position when water is drawn through one of the strainer walls, in which position it interrupts the connection between the other strainer wall and a suction conduit. By inherent flexibility, a shield means is automatically switched over to a second position which opens the connection between the second strainer wall and the suction conduit, as soon as the first strainer wall is clogged by impurities to such an extent that a low-pressure arises in the space between the first strainer wall and the shield means unit, which low-pressure brings about the switching-over by its suction effect.

    • A device for slowing down and disintegrating a plug of liquid plunging forward in a duct includes a container having a bottom and an opposite inlet, which is connectable to the duct and through which the plug of liquid can be directed into a central, axial trajectory in the container. Inside the container is an inner tube, open towards the bottom, which separates an inner hollow space from an outer, cross-section-wise ring-shaped hollow space, a distributor body being arranged in the trajectory of the entering plug of liquid for splitting and disintegrating the plug of liquid as well as throwing out the disintegrated constituent parts of liquid in the direction outwards from the center. The bottom includes a concavely curved guide surface for diverting the liquid from one of the hollow spaces to the other to reverse the direction of motion of the liquid. A corresponding method is also provided.
