摘要： A software queue located in an offscreen portion of video memory is used as a large-capacity software queue for queuing messages to a graphics accelerator. Although the software queue is typically stored in a dynamic RAM (DRAM) memory, advantages of faster static RAM (SRAM) are achieved by shadowing some of the queuing information in SRAM. Usage of a large-capacity software queue in video DRAM memory and information shadowing in faster SRAM memory achieves an advantageous balance between throughput speed and queue size. The large-capacity of the software queue ensures that the queue is virtually never filled to capacity so that delays while awaiting free space in the queue are virtually never incurred. The capacity of the software queue is determined in software and is therefore adaptable to match a particular graphics application.

摘要： Various character strings are repeatedly displayed on a graphics display. For example, strings such as "file", "edit", "view" and "help" are commonly displayed on nearly every screen. This redundancy of displayed character strings is exploited using a string cache and string caching method. A string cache stores a database of strings along with the rendered forms of the strings. The string cache stores the strings in a rendered form which for particular character strings and attributes and characteristics of the strings. The string cache is stored and accessed local to a graphics accelerator so that a single string request across a system bus activates the display of the entire string, including a display of the selected attributes and characteristics.

摘要： Improvements in a transportable stepper are disclosed. The mini stepper has steps that remain horizontal through the entire stroke. The mini stepper uses parallel connected arms to maintain flat steps so a user steps in a natural position and maintain a balanced posture. The stepper has a step height adjustment that links the two pedals. The travel or highest position for the foot pads is adjustable to change the resistance or work-out intensity for the user by limiting the vertical travel for the foot pads and links the foot pads to ensure when one footpad is being pushed downward, the opposing footpad is being elevated. The resistance pistons are surrounded by an insulation tube that minimizes skin contact to hot pistons. The mini stepper has a display that links to an application for tracking/displaying exercise related information.

摘要： Improvements to an ankle holder for an inversion table. The ankle holders are formed of an elastomeric material that is molded onto a rigid backing. The elastomeric material is sufficient durometer to easily conform to the shape of ankles. The backing is secured to a pivoting structure. The ankle holder has a pre-formed shape that approximates the shape and contour of an ankle/heel/foot. The ankle holder can expand and move around the shape of the person to evenly distribute forces caused by inversion of the table. The ankle holders can include a plurality of bladders on the backing to provide structural support to the bladders that enables the bladders to be mounted and secured onto the inversion table. The distance between the gas cushions is adjustable to allow a user to place their ankles within the inversion table and customize the clamping forces.

摘要： Improvements in a flywheel friction loading measurement system is disclosed. The measurement system includes combining a rotational system that alters friction on a flywheel combined with a variable resistor or potentiometer. The combination proves a measurable system that can determine the loading on a piece of exercise equipment. The potentiometer is calibrated to provide a repeatable and reliable measurement of the loading system that is placed on a flywheel. Detents can be included to provide finite loading positions. A calibration sequence can also be used to communicate the friction to a display and measurement system. The rotational system is with pulling a cable on a rotational axis or with wrapping a cable chain, belt or equivalent on or around a rotational axis.
