摘要： In certain embodiments, an on-demand portable medical record system using near field communication includes a near field communication (NFC) storage device adapted to retrieve patient medical data for storage on the NFC storage device and a NFC retrieval device adapted to engage in near field communication with the NFC storage device to retrieve the patient medical data from the NFC storage device. An emergency on-demand portable medical record system using near field communication includes a NFC-enabled medical alert device storing a patient identifier, and a NFC retrieval device adapted to engage in near field communication with the NFC-enabled medical alert device to retrieve the patient identifier from the NFC storage device. The NFC-enabled medical alert device transfers the patient identifier to the NFC retrieval device via near field communication, and patient medical data is transferred to a medical facility upon verification of the patient identifier.

摘要： Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate mitigating a hidden node condition in a wireless mesh network wherein nodes utilize a request-to-send/clear-to-send (RTS/CTS) protocol in conjunction with an asynchronous hybrid automatic repeat request protocol. For instance, a node may contend for a set of subcarriers by sending an RTS signal over the desired subcarriers, and may receive a CTS signal over the contended subcarriers, wherein the CTS signal indicates which subcarriers the node may transmit data over. If another node has won the contention for a particular subcarrier, requesting node may adjust a power level at which it transmits an RTS or a data packet in order to permit the requesting node to utilize the subcarrier without interfering with the winning node.

摘要： Systems and methods are disclosed that facilitate wireless communication using resource utilization messages (RUMs), in accordance with various aspects. A RUM may be generated for a first node, such as an access point or an access terminal, to indicate that a first predetermined threshold has been met or exceeded. The RUM may be weighted to indicate a degree to which a second predetermined threshold has been exceeded. The first and/or second predetermined thresholds may be associated with various parameters associated with the node, such as latency, throughput, data rate, spectral efficiency, carrier-to-interference ratio, interference-over-thermal level, etc. The RUM may then be transmitted to one or more other nodes to indicate a level of disadvantage experienced by the first node.
