    • The apparatus for sensing pressure comprises a header, having at least one input port for receiving a substance under pressure. A substrate, having a wafer-like shape with a relatively large surface area in comparision to its thickness, includes at least one internal passage to couple the substance under pressure. A pressure sensing element is mounted onto the surface of the substrate over an exit port of the internal passage coupling the substance under pressure. The substrate is bonded to a surface of the header at extreme locations from a location in which the pressure sensing element is mounted. Thus isolation is provided for the pressure sensing element from unwanted stresses induced in the substrate.

    • An ink cartridge has a plurality of ink supplying elements coaxially mounted on a shaft for rotation therewith with each element having an ink containing layer molded integrally with an ink impervious layer covering a side face of the ink layer while an exposed radially outward edge face provides an ink supply surface. The ink containing layers are initially each molded into the ink impervious layer which provides a covering for one side face and a radially outward edge face of the ink containing layer. The edge face covering is subsequently removed from the ink containing layer to expose an ink supply surface of the ink layer. A substantial portion of the ink impervious material is retained in the exposed ink supply surface of the ink containing material to reinforce the surface pores therein while permitting an ink flow therefrom. The ink elements are subsequently assembled on the coaxial shaft in a parallel layered arrangement to position an ink impervious side face covering layer adjacent to an uncovered side face of an ink containing layer of an adjacent ink supplying element.

    • A terminal block connector uses a first nut having an internal thread of a first diameter and type and a second nut coaxially arranged therewith having an internal thread of a second diameter and type. To further the universality of the connector, the first thread may be an SAE thread while the second thread may be a metric thread, while the first diameter is always smaller than the second diameter. The first nut is arranged to cooperate with a first diameter machine screw while the second nut is arranged to cooperate with a second diameter machine screw. The two nuts are held rotationally captive in a coaxial recess in an electrically insulating block with the larger thread diameter second nut located at the entrance to the recess. The smaller thread diameter first nut is initially positioned beneath the large diameter second nut and in frictional engagement with the wall of the recess with a space between the first nut and the bottom of the recess. In an alternate embodiment, the recess is substantially longer than the combined thickness of the two nuts, and a spring is located between the internal end of the recess and the inner one of the two nuts to urge the nuts together and against the recess entrance and to permit a separation of the two nuts by a machine screw engaging the second diameter nut while projecting therefrom into the recess.
