摘要： The present invention relates to styling agents comprising adhesive copolymers along with a volatile diluent useful in products such as shampoos and conditioners which provide hair styling hold. The monomer components in these copolymers are randomly distributed in the copolymer chain, preferably to form a substantially linear chain. Preferably, at least one of the monomer components is selected from vinyl pyridine, acrylate amides and methacrylate amides and one of the other monomer components is selected from butadiene, isoprene, isobutene, acrylate esters, methacrylate esters, vinyl alkyl ethers, alkyl-substituted butadienes, and chloroprene. These copolymers also have a single glass transition temperature within the temperature range of from about 0.degree. C. to about 150.degree. C. The volatile diluents useful in these styling agents can be hydrocarbons, esters, ethers, amines, alkyl alcohols, or volatile silicon derivatives.

摘要： Hair care compositions which provide improved styling and hair conditioning properties are disclosed. The compositions comprise from about 0.1% to about 10.0% of a specifically-defined silicone copolymer and from about 0.5% to about 99.5% of a carrier suitable for application to hair. These compositions are characterized by the fact that, when dried, the polymer phase separates into a discontinuous phase which includes a silicone macromer and a continuous phase which includes the copolymer backbone.

摘要： Provided hair styling compositions comprising: (a) from about 0.1% to about 15%, by weight, of a silicone grafted adhesive polymer, said polymer being characterized by an organic polymeric backbone having silicone macromers grafted to said backbone; (b) from about 0.5% to about 15%, by weight, of a hydrocarbon solvent selected from the group consisting of C.sub.10 -C.sub.14 branched chain hydrocarbons, and mixtures thereof; (c) a polar solvent phase comprising from about 80% to about 98.9%, by weight of the composition, of a polar solvent selected from the group consisting of water and C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 monohydric alcohols, and mixtures thereof, wherein said composition contains no more than about 15%, by weight, of C.sub.3 monohydric alcohol; wherein said organic polymer backbone is soluble in said polar solvent phase, and said silicone macromers of said hair setting polymer are soluble in said hydrocarbon solvent and insoluble in said polar solvent. In preferred embodiments, the compositions hereof additionally comprise a plasticizer for the silicone grafted hair setting polymer. Especially preferred plasticizers include acetyl tri-C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 alkyl citrates, particularly acetyl triethyl citrate.

摘要： The present invention relates to low glass transition temperature adhesive copolymers useful in products such as those which provide hair styling hold, e.g., aerosol mousses, shampoos and conditioners. The monomer components in these copolymers are randomly distributed in the copolymer chain, preferably to form a substantially linear chain. At least one of the monomer components is selected from acrylate amides and methacrylate amides; and furthermore at least one of the other monomer components is selected from acrylate esters and methacrylate esters. These copolymers have a single glass transition temperature within the temperature range of from about 0.degree. C. to about 80.degree. C. The present invention further relates to hair styling compositions (e.g., aerosol mousses, shampoos, conditioners) comprising these adhesive copolymers, and to methods for providing styling hold to hair by using an adhesive copolymer or composition of the present invention.
