摘要： An evoked potential monitoring system including a control unit having stimulator circuitry and a probe assembly coupled to the control unit. The probe assembly includes a stimulus probe and a stimulator handpiece selectively coupled to the stimulus probe. The handpiece includes a handle, control circuitry, and a switch. The control circuitry is electrically coupled to the stimulator circuitry. The switch is electrically coupled to the control circuitry and extends to an exterior portion of the handle. In this regard, movement of the switch remotely controls the stimulator circuitry to continuously increment or decrement a stimulation energy level delivered to the stimulus probe over a series of discrete, incremental steps.

摘要： An intraoperative neural monitoring system includes a power source and a simulator powered by the power source to deliver a cycle of electrical stimulation to a patient as a first group of positive or negative phase pulses automatically followed by a second group of pulses of opposite phase or polarity to the pulses of the first group. An activation performed to initiate delivery of the first group of pulses is effective to deliver the entire cycle of stimulation. A method of intraoperative neural monitoring involves activating a simulator to deliver a biphasic cycle of electrical stimulation to a patient during an operative procedure, delivering the entire cycle of electrical stimulation to the patient in response to the activating step and detecting EMG activity in the patient.

摘要： The present invention provides an erasable colored pencil lead composition comprising a colorant, one or more binder resins, a fibrillatable or fibrillated material, and a filler. The colored pencil lead of the present invention produces marks on paper which are easily erased by ordinary pencil eraser. The mark made using the composition has a cohesive nature which assists in the removal from paper in sheet or film like sections by the use of an ordinary eraser without smearing or leaving a residue. In a preferred embodiment, the composition is free or substantially free of low melting waxes or wax like materials. Examples of suitable binder resins include high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, polypropylene, and high melting waxes. Examples of fibrillated or fibrillatable materials include fibrillatable or fibrillated polytetrafluoroethylene and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. The colored pencil lead composition may further include a lubricant. Examples of the lubricants include micronized PTFE and polyethylene glycols. The present invention further provides a process for using the colored pencil lead composition. The present invention further provides a process for preparing the colored pencil lead of the present invention.

摘要： Recombinant proteins are of great commercial interest. Yet, most current production methods in mammalian cells involve the time- and labor-consuming step of creating stable cell lines. Production methods based on transient gene expression are advantageous in terms of speed and versatility, yet, thus far, those methods have not shown the specific productivity, batch yield and volumetric yield to be an economic alternative to stable cell lines. The inventors improved on the methodology of transient transfection and achieved commercially relevant yields in terms of specific productivity (exceeding 35 pg per cell per day), batch yield (exceeding 700 mg/l) and volumetric yield.
