    • The invention relates to a method for continuously creating a bainite structure in a carbon steel, especially a strip steel. The method comprises the following steps: the carbon steel (1) is austenitized (3) at a temperature exceeding the austenitizing temperature; the austenitized carbon steel (1) is introduced into a bath (2) containing a quenching agent (21) in order to cool the carbon steel (1) to a temperature lying below the austenitizing temperature; the carbon steel (1) is adjusted to the transformation temperature for bainite and is maintained (13) at the transformation temperature for a certain period of time; and the carbon steel is then cooled (17). In order to further develop the method, the carbon steel (1) penetrates a bath (2) containing a quenching agent (21) until a defined percentage of the bainite structure relative to the total structure of the carbon steel (1) has formed in the bath (2) containing the quenching agent (21) following the austenitizing process, residues of the quenching agent (21) are removed from the surface of the carbon steel (1) by blowing the same off when the carbon steel (1) is discharged from the bath (2), and the remaining structure components of the carbon steel (1) are then transformed into bainite in an isothermal tempering station (13) without deflecting the carbon steel (1) at all when the same penetrates the isothermal tempering station (13).

    • A method is described for batchwise heat treatment of goods to be annealed which are heated in a heating chamber after scavenging air with a scavenging gas under protective gas to a predetermined treatment temperature, with the protective gas being conveyed through the heating chamber depending on the occurrence of impurities in different quantities. In order to enable the economic use of protective gas, it is proposed that the protective gas which is withdrawn from the heating chamber after the main occurrence of impurities and which is loaded with a residual quantity of impurities is conveyed, optionally after intermediate storage, into the heating chamber during the main occurrence of impurities of a subsequent batch before non-loaded protective gas is introduced into the heating chamber.

    • The invention describes a hood-type annealing furnace, especially for steel strip or wire bunches, with an annealing base (1) for receiving the material (7) to be annealed, a protective hood (8) which is placed on the furnace in a gas-tight manner, a radial blower (2) which is held in the annealing base (1) and comprises a blade wheel (3) and a guide apparatus (5) enclosing the blade wheel (3) for circulating a protective gas in the protective hood (8), a heat exchanger (11) for cooling the protective gas, which heat exchanger (11) is connected on the input side via a flow conduit (13) with the pressure side of the radial blower (2) and opens on the output side in an annular gap (12) between the guide apparatus (5) and the protective hood (8), and a deflection device which is axially displaceable into the pressure-side flow path of the radial blower (2) for the optional connection to the radial blower (2) of the flow conduit (13) which leads to the heat exchanger (11). In order to provide simple construction conditions it is proposed that the protective hood (8) is held in a gas-tight manner via an annular flange (9), that the heat exchanger (11) is disposed below the annular flange (9), that the flow conduit (13) consists of an annular conduit (14) starting from the outer circumference of the guide apparatus (5) and being concentric to the annular gap (12), and that the deflection device is arranged as an annular deflection slide (18) which encloses the guide apparatus (5) on the outside.
