摘要： A compact dedusting apparatus induces air flow through the housing by a vacuum generator mounted within the housing. The discharge of dust and debris can be passed through a conduit to a remote location without losing air flow velocity to facilitate the use of the compact dedusting apparatus within a clean room. The metering device is formed from stainless steel and mounted on a spring-loaded mounting plate to permit vertical movement of the metering device when a jam of the particulate material is encountered. The metering device can be driven by a low torque stepper motor operable at selectively variable speeds to control the flow rate of the particulate material. The discharge transition is formed with an enlarged cross-sectional area compared to the shape of the Venturi zone so that carryover pellets can be returned to the product flow instead of being lost with the dirty air discharge.

The configuration of the dedusting apparatus includes a half round cylindrical housing in which is mounted a partial cone wash deck having a reverse partial cone deflector that is vertically moveable to vary the flow rate of particulate material passing over the wash deck. The product inlet port is preferably circular and directs contaminant-laden particulate material inside the deflector to pass over the surface of the wash deck. The housing has a greater diameter than the maximum diameter of the wash deck to establish a Venturi zone around the circumference of the wash deck. The wash deck and deflector are detachably mounted within the housing to allow removal thereof for ease of cleaning the wash deck and also the interior of the housing.

Vertical movement of the metering apparatus is limited by slots formed in a mounting plate. The fixed shape member passes through the mounting plate for engagement with the pneumatic cylinder.

摘要： A dedusting apparatus is provided with movable inlet deflectors that are positionally controlled by actuators to vary the rate of flow of particulate material over the wash decks. The inlet deflectors are formed with a fixed member that extends between the front and rear walls of the dedusting apparatus and extends downwardly from the top wall to terminate in a spaced relationship to the surface of the wash decks. A movable member is operatively coupled to an actuator to overlie the fixed member and be movable to be adjacent the surface of the wash deck to terminate flow of material past the deflectors. Particulate material can accumulate above the wash decks and between the deflectors to fill the volume to the inlet opening to permit a full loading of flow over the full width of the wash decks when the deflectors are raised by the actuators.
