摘要： In an ionographic device projecting a stream of ions towards a moving imaging surface, modulated in imagewise fashion, one or more control electrodes may be arranged adjacent to the path of the ion stream and between the source of the modulated ion stream and the imaging surface, biased with a voltage preventing previously deposited charge from perturbing the trajectory of subsequently projected ions to limit the amount of ion beam deflection caused by the presence of electrostatic charge patterns on the electroreceptor.

摘要： An apparatus which develops an electrostatic latent image recorded on a photoconductive member with toner. Fluidized toner is transported from one end of the developer housing to the other end. An electrical bias is applied between the toner mover and the donor roller so as to attract toner to the donor roller. A rotating rod resiliently urged into contact with the donor roller charges and meters the toner on the donor roller. Electrically biased wires in the development zone between the photoconductive member and the donor roller detach toners from the donor roll so as to form a toner powder cloud in the development zone. Detached toner from the toner powder cloud develops the latent image.

摘要： A method and apparatus for reproducing color images on the electrophotographic printing machine with liquid developer, wherein there is enabled with such developers in embodiments excellent fixing characteristics especially when the developed image being in two distinct liquid phases is transferred from an intermediate substrate to the final substrate, such as paper. In embodiments of the present invention there is provided developers and processes for achieving high fix. The liquid developed image is concentrated to 30 to 45 percent solid by removing carrier liquid and thereafter heated on the intermediate substrate.

In addition, a predetermined amount of liquid developing material concentrate is systematically dispensed from the liquid developing material supply to the liquid developing material reservoir so as to extend the useful life of the operative liquid developing material therein.

Alternatively, the black toner may be negatively charged in which case the custom and highlight color toners would be positively charged.

摘要： An apparatus is provided which limits the amount of developer that is presented to an electrostatic latent image to a width corresponding to the length of copy paper used. This particular apparatus and method apply to a development system which has a developer sump communicated to a magnetic transport means through a developer outlet at the lower end of the sump. During development functions, magnetic developer flows from the sump through the outlet to the magnetic transport means to be presented to the latent image. A plurality of magnetic gates are provided, each of which; may be swung into closed position adjacent the outlet to magnetically block flow of developer through that portion of the outlet corresponding to the length of the magnetic gate adjacent thereto. Each magnetic gate may also be swung into an open position which allows developer to flow through the outlet corresponding to the length of the magnetic gate adjacent thereto. Certain of the magnetic gates may be selectively located in open or closed position to allow developer to flow through the outlet over a length corresponding to the length of a copy sheet being utilized. All of the gates may be located in closed position when it is desired to stop all of developer flow through the outlet to puurge the developer systems.
