    • This invention relates to photographic cameras, and more particularly to an exposure control circuit of the type in which an analog output representative of the object brightness level is converted to a digital signal which is factored into an exposure value, and the period of actuation of the camera shutter is controlled in accordance with this exposure value. Still more particularly, it relates to an improvement over this conventional type exposure control with respect to the A-D conversion. The prior art converts a voltage representative of the object brightness to a digital form by the use of an A-D converter such as of the follow comparison type which is characterized by the lack of integrating aspect in converting the input voltage to the corresponding digital signal. Therefore, when the illumination for the object being photographed is caused to flicker in a period of time shorter than the effective exposure time interval, an alternating current component is introduced into the input voltage of the converter. Accordingly, it is made impossible to effect accurate exposure control based on the digital signal representing the only object brightness level. The invention provides an exposure control circuit which is not susceptible of this alternate current component as it is removed in the course of the A-D conversion.

    • An automatic exposure control device to convert the analogue value of an object to be photographed, to digital value for controlling appropriate exposure value using said digital value. The device has a photo-sensing means to sense the light from the object digitally, a photographing information setting means to digitally set various photographing information such as film sensitivity, diaphragm aperture value, shutter speed, etc., a calculating means to digitally calculate diaphragm aperture value, shutter speed value means corresponding to the output of the above mentioned photo-sensing means and the photographing information setting means, a function detecting and setting means to detect and set each functional state, and a sequence control means having an instructional function for various calculating operations to control sequence-wise the computation operation of the above mentioned computation device, corresponding to the output of said function detecting and setting means, wherein the sequence control means determines the photographing mode corresponding to the output of the above mentioned function detecting and setting means. At the same time, appropriate exposure value is calculated by the calculating means in accordance with the content of the above mentioned photographing means and the output of the photo-sensing means is converted to digital value.

    • An electronic exposure control apparatus for a camera includes a setting means to set the exposure factor, a compression means connected to said setting means, for compressing the above-mentioned exposure factor logarithmically and an analogue-digital conversion means, being connected to said compression means, and generating a pulse number which corresponds to the output from the compression means. Also included is a first counter, which is connected to the output of the above-mentioned analogue-digital conversion means, for counting the pulse number from the above-mentioned analogue-digital conversion means, a pulse generating means, a binary counter having plural number of bits and connected to the output of the above-mentioned pulse generating means, wherein said counter counts the pulse number from the above-mentioned pulse generating means in association with shutter release, and the output of the counter is connected to the first counter for resetting the memorized content of the first counter. A coincidence detection means is connected to the output of the binary counter, wherein said means generates a signal when the memorized content of the first counter is reset, and a control means is connected to the above-mentioned coincidence detection means, wherein the opening and closing of the shutter is controlled by the signal from the above-mentioned coincidence detection means.
