    • In a building box type plug-in modular rack structure for electronic equipment, a box-like shelf accommodates a plurality of printed circuit boards therein. A pair of side frames symmetrical in a right-and-left direction each has a recess at the upper end and a projection at the lower end for respectively mating with the projection and the recess of adjoining side frames. A framework is constituted by the pair of side frames and the shelf interposed between them. Covers cover the outer periphery of the framework. A plurality of frameworks are stacked and connected together by the recesses and the projections of the side frames. A top cover and a bottom cover respectively are fitted on the top and the bottom of the stack of frameworks.

    • A surface acoustic wave (SAW) device includes a piezoelectric substrate, and on this substrate there are provided comb electrodes for forming an inter digital transducer (IDT), reflector electrodes placed closely along a traveling direction of a surface wave generated by the IDT, and a frame-like short-circuited auxiliary electrode having a width varying depending on its portions. This structure allows to uniform electric charges overall the electrode-surfaces, where the electric charges are generated in a heat treatment applied to the piezoelectric substrate during the manufacturing of the SAW device. Thus even after the device is diced into pieces, this structure can prevent damages of the electrodes or degradation in electrical properties due to an electric discharge generated by accumulated electric charges caused by pyroelectricity of the substrate.

    • A hermetic rotary compressor has a motor unit composed of a stator and a rotor which are arranged in an upper portion of a hermetic housing, an oil-lubricated compressor unit arranged in a lower portion of the hermetic housing, a crank shaft which interconnects said motor unit and said compressor unit, a discharging silencer which is formed by a lower bearing of the compressor unit positioned around the lower end of the crank shaft and a cover of the lower bearing. The hermetic rotary compressor further has a lower balancing weight mounted around a lower shaft end portion of the crank shaft which extends to a position below the discharging silencer and a weight cup surrounding the lower balancing weight. In this hermetic rotary compressor, the lower balancing weight is not disposed within the discharging silencer. Hence, even is the gas-liquid mixture of refrigerant is discharged from the discharging valve into the silencer chamber in the start-up or during liquid-back operation of the compressor, there is no risk that the lower balancing weight undesirably stirs such a fluid.
