    • A thermally-conductive member (60) is provided between a housing (53) and a FET module (54f) constituting a controller (54b), and used to release heat of the FET module (54f) to the housing (53). Therefore, heat of the FET module (54f) can be dissipated to outside via the thermally-conductive member (60) and the housing (53). Since the housing (53) is made of aluminum, a surface area of the housing (53) can be increased to become larger than the conventional cooling fin member, and heat of the FET module (54f) can be dissipated to outside, the DR-side wiper motor (21) can be reduced in size and improved in cooling efficiency. Furthermore, since a cooling fin member is not inserted in the case cover (54) in a conventional manner. Therefore, the case cover (54) can be molded with ease, and the wiper motor can be improved in assembly workability.

    • In a driving apparatus having a casing 10A in which an electric motor 16 is housed, the driving apparatus further has: a rotating shaft 27 through which a torque of the electric motor 16 is transmitted, the rotating shaft 27 being formed with a worm 40; a worm wheel 41 which is disposed in the casing 10A, the worm wheel 41 having a worm gear 42 which is engaged with the worm 40; a terminal holder 31 which is disposed in the casing 10A, and which supports a terminal carrying a current to be supplied to the electric motor 16; and an air hole 78 which extends so as to penetrate the casing 10A, an inside of the casing 10A and an outside of the casing 10A communicating with each other through the air hole 78, wherein in a plan view perpendicular to an axis C1 serving as a rotation center of the worm wheel 41, the air hole 78 is disposed in an area defined by projection of an area occupied by the terminal holder 31 in a direction along an axis B1, and between the electric motor and an engaging part E1 of the worm 40 with the worm gear 42.

    • The swing member (63) to be subjected to swinging drive is integrally provided to the output shaft (56) outside the speed reducer case (52), the speed reducer case (52) is provided with a pair of swing regulating portions (61, 62) which prevents the swing member (63) from being moved beyond the wiping-allowable limit angle (b°) by contacting the swing member (63). As a result, the swing member (63) and the swing regulating portions (61, 62) can collectively form the regulating member (60). As a result, essential components (such as fixing plate) can be omitted from the conventional wiper apparatus. Therefore, the wiper apparatus can be improved in assembly workability, size and weight by reducing the number of components thereof, and provided with a regulating member (60) which prevents the wiper member being moved beyond the wiping-allowable limit angle (b°).
