摘要： An apparatus which includes a feeding device for feeding a document onto a document platen on which the document is irradiated by a light source to obtain a copy image and a discharging device for discharging the irradiated document from the document platen. The apparatus includes a housing unit shaped in the form of a plate for covering the document platen; a hinge for pivotally mounting the housing unit on the document platen, and first, second and third sub-housings made to protrude upwards from the top surface of the housing unit. The first sub-housing is disposed on one side of the housing unit and incorporates the feeding device. The second sub-housing is disposed on the opposite side to the one side and incorporates the discharging device. The third sub-housing is disposed on a side between the one side and the opposite side and incorporates both the hinge and driving mechanism for both the feeding device and the discharging device.

摘要： A document conveyer for conveying a document to a predetermined position on platen glass of a copying machine, including; a document feeder for feeding the document from the outside of the document conveyer to a conveyance roller, located on the platen glass the conveyance roller, for conveying the document onto the platen glass by rotating in the forward direction, and also for subsequently bringing the trailing edge of the document into contact with an edge setting member, located adjacent to the platen glass, by rotating in the reverse direction so that the document is set at the predetermined position on the platen glass, an auxiliary conveyance roller, located on the platen glass, for conveying the document onto the platen glass by functioning with the conveyance roller when the document is longer than a predetermined size, and a roller retractor for retracting the auxiliary conveyance roller from the platen glass so that the auxiliary conveyance roller does not convey the document, in which the auxiliary conveyance roller is retracted from the platen glass by the roller retractor while the document is being brought into contract with the setting edge member by the conveyance roller.

摘要： A sorter provided with a stapler for use with an image forming apparatus, in which there are provided a plurality of bins each for accommodating various widths of recording sheets delivered from the image forming apparatus, the center of the sheets being positioned in the center of the bins. An aligner aligns the accommodated sheets by pushing the sides of the sheets toward a reference stop wall on each of the bins, and a casing to house the bins is integrated into a unit. The casing is movable in a direction at right angles to a feeding direction of the sheets, and is moved to correspond with the width of the sheets. The home position of the casing is set to a position where the minimum width of sheets are accommodated.
