    • A method of fabricating a passivation layer is provided. A substrate with a plurality of device structures and at least an interconnect thereon is provided. A patterned metallic layer is formed over the interconnection layer. A plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition process is performed to form a first passivation over the metallic layer such that the processing pressure is higher (and/or the processing power is lower) than the pressure (the power) used in prior art. A moisture impermeable second passivation is formed over the first passivation layer. With the first passivation formed in a higher processing pressure (and/or lower processing power), damages to metallic layers or devices due to plasma bombardment is minimized.

    • This invention relates to a body height and weight measuring machine, which operates by means of a winding transmission cord means to drive a sliding plate having sensing, measuring, and digital display functions. When the sliding plate moving upwards, the sensing means will receive the refracted infrared rays as a result of a person's height to cause said winding transmission cord means to stop moving; then, a correct height and weight will be displayed thru digital display means. The aforesaid height measurement and its digital display are done by means of a photocell sensing means being coupled to a scale plate that includes a black and transparent strip in alternate arrangement and equal width so as to have said photocell sensing means generating a forward or reverse sequence sensing signal during the sliding plate moving; then, said signals will be shown on a display means driven with driving circuit.

    • The invention provides a method and system of processing a starchy material that can advantageously produce ethanol, sugar syrup, or starch as the chief products along with food-grade co-products such as, but not limited to oil, protein, fiber, and gluten meal. The invention can apply such a force to a starchy material that is at a superambient temperature with a high shear processor to mill, mix, and gelatinize some of the starch. A liquefaction enzyme can be introduced into the high shear processor to liquefy the processed product. The moisture content of the processed starchy material can be reduced, which preferably occurs in the high shear processor. Some of the co-products such as the oil, protein, fiber and gluten meal can be separated prior to the sugar syrup purification or ethanol fermentation steps.

    • This invention is a method to rupture microbial cells in order to recover intracellular material in the cells comprising:a) treating the cells with carbon dioxide under pressure sufficient to enter the cells for time sufficient to allow enough carbon dioxide into the cells to effect later rupture, thenb) suddenly releasing the applied fluid pressure on the cells so that the outer wall or membrane of the cells is ruptured by the expansion of carbon dioxide within the cell. Preferably the remaining intracellular material of the cells is separated and recovered. Also the treatment can be in conjunction with lytic enzyme to increase rupture rates. Preferably the enzyme remains active and protein in the cells retains its native state in the ruptured cell suspension. The preferred time for treating is from between about one hour and about fifteen hours. It is also preferred to treat initially at a pressure of from above about 500 psi gage to about 5000 psi and a temperature of about 10.degree. to about 85.degree. C. For improved rupture efficiency, the treating is repeated at least once.

    • The present invention offers an "automatic digit display machine for measuring height and weight" which can measure the height and weight of human body at the same time by virtue of an illuminant (LED or bulb) on the top of the machine to slopewise emit a ray downward illuminating the human head. The ray reflects to a plane mirror which, in turn, further reflects it to a sensor (CDS or photo-electric crystal) so as to stop the impetus of flexible transmission. Meantime, the metal contact sliding upward stops at the certain position of circuit board, and thru the special circuit design of the circuit board, the digit of height of human body is displayed by the drive circuit display device. The weight of human body is displayed with digit by the said display device thru the said drive circuit in line with the micromotion generated by the weight-measuring result from the high-class scale body in general.
