    • The invention provides a brush seal assembly, and method of using, for reducing adverse fluid flow effects to a brush seal,.the brush seal assembly comprising a support housing having a passage; a rotating shaft disposed in the passage of the support housing, the rotating shaft including a shaft body having a periphery and an annular tooth extending around the periphery of the shaft body; and an annular brush seal including a plurality of bristles extending around the shaft body, each of the plurality of bristles attached to and extending from the support housing in the passage towards the rotating shaft. The brush seal assembly further includes an annular abradable material portion being constructed of an abradable material, the abradable material portion having a groove extending around an inner periphery thereof, the abradable material portion disposed in the passage around, and proximate to, the tooth of the rotating shaft such that the tooth of the rotating shaft is disposed in the groove of the abradable material portion.

    • The invention provides a brush seal, and a method of using a brush seal, for providing a seal between a support housing and a rotating shaft. The brush seal comprises a support portion; a back plate connected to and extending from the support portion on a back side of the support portion. The brush seal further includes a set of bristles attached to the support portion, the back plate disposed on a back side of the set of bristles and supporting the set of bristles. The brush seal further includes at least one fitting portion connected to and extending from the support portion, each of the at least one fitting portions configured to mate with a corresponding slot in the support housing so as to prevent mis-fit of the brush seal in the support housing.

    • A stroller track system is used to facilitate the transporting of a stroller up and down stairs. The stroller track system includes a left tread assembly and a right tread assembly. The left tread assembly and the right tread assembly are used to engage multiple stairs while traversing a set of stairs. This allows the stroller to glide smoothly up or down the stairs. The left tread assembly and the right tread assembly each include a first track and a first stroller-attaching mount. The first track has a greater surface area than a normal wheel, allowing the first track to span a larger section of a staircase. The first stroller-attaching mount is used to attach the first track to a stroller. In alternative versions of the stroller track system, the left tread assembly and the right tread assembly may include additional tracks to further stabilize the stroller.

    • Embodiments for the adaptive mining of bilingual lexicon are disclosed. In accordance with one embodiment, the adaptive mining of bilingual lexicon includes retrieving one or more bilingual web pages, wherein each of the bilingual web page including a search term and one or more additional terms. The adaptive mining also includes forming a plurality of candidate translation pairs for each of the terms and extracting one or more translation layout patterns from the plurality of candidate translation pairs. The adaptive mining further includes deriving a term translation in a second language for the search term. The term translation being derived based on a hidden conditional random field (HCRF) model that includes the one or more candidate translations, the one or more translation layout patterns, and one or more additional features. The term translation is further stored in a lexicon repository.

    • Embodiments for the adaptive learning of translation layout patterns to mine bilingual data are disclosed. In accordance with at least one embodiment, the adaptive learning of patterns to mine bilingual data includes processing a bilingual web page into a Document Object Model (DOM) tree. The embodiment further includes linking the bilingual snippet pairs of each node into a plurality bilingual snippet pairs. The embodiment also includes determining one or more best fit candidate patterns based on the plurality of translation snippets via a Support Vector Machine classifier. The embodiment additionally includes mining one or more translation pairs from the bilingual web page using the one or more best fit candidate patterns. The translation pairs are further stored in a data storage. The one or more translation pairs including at least one of a term pair, a phrase pair, or a sentence pair.
