    • A machine tool having movable axes driven by linear motors has a brake unit disposed in parallel with each linear motor. When the linear motors are not excited, the brake units are turned on to lock the movable axes. When the linear motors are excited, if a machining signal is off, indicating that machining is not in progress, and no manual command is issued, the brake units are likewise turned on to lock the movable axes. The brake units have a certain amount of play so that even when locked, a movable axis can move by a certain amount to enable the linear motor, if excited, to halt in a stable position, avoiding overcurrent flow.

    • When a state for electric discharge is established, switching elements T2 and T3 are turned on so that a machining current J0 from a low-voltage auxiliary DC power source (2) flows between a workpiece (W) and a machining electrode (P). Thereupon, an electric discharge machining current J0 sharply rises as a high voltage is applied from a main DC power source (1). When the switching element T1 is turned off, the electric discharge machining current (J0) reaches its peak value, which is maintained by the current from the auxiliary DC power source (2). When the switching elements T2 and T3 are turned off, a current produced by induced energy is fed back to the main DC power source (1) through diodes D1 and D2, whereupon the machining current sharply falls.

Pins for receiving an external power source are formed on the back surface of the module substrate. A plurality of resistance means have ends on one side connected to the plurality of uniformalizing conductor layers, and have ends on the other side connected to the spreading conductor layer. The resistance means have resistances determined in advance depending upon the power consumption of the electronic parts corresponding to the uniformalizing conductor layers.

    • In an electric discharge machining power source having a capacitor discharge circuit with a switching element, charging of a capacitor is stopped through an OR gate (G1), a NOR gate (G2) and a preamplifier (A1) in response to an output from a charge voltage detecting circuit (1) for generating the output when a charge voltage across the capacitor exceeds a reference voltage. At the same time, the switching element is turned on through a preamplifier (A2). The switching element is kept on through the OR gate (G1) and the preamplifier (A2) until a discharge current detecting circuit (4) detects the discharge current and stops generating the output. When the capacitor is completely discharged, the switching element is turned off. In the optical path for the right eye, display light from the display device 3 is reflected by a reflecting surface 1R of the optical path distributing mirror 1 and passes through a first surface 21R of the decentered prism member 2R to enter the prism, in which the light is totally reflected by a second surface 22R, which serves also as a fourth surface 24R, and back-reflected by a third surface 23R to exit from the prism through the fourth surface 24R. The light is led to an exit pupil 4R for the right eye to project an enlarged image of the display device 3 into the right eye. The same is true in the optical path for the left eye.
