摘要： An apparatus for flicker reduction and increased writing speed into image memory in a CRT display having an interlaced scan with masking of low priority symbols. The apparatus expands or duplicates adjacent picture elements to provide redundant illumination for alternate fields, thereby providing at least two adjacent illuminated picture elements proximate to a masking image to reduce flickering during the writing of alternate fields. Writing into a single memory location commands illumination of a plurality of adjacent pixels, thereby reducing image memory writing time. The apparatus utilizes an image memory wherein video bit signals are written into only storage locations whose binary x coordinate has a predetermined first digit, and whose binary y coordinate has a predetermined first digit. Signals in storage locations whose addresses correspond to picture elements P.sub.I,J, P.sub.I-1,J, P.sub.I-1, .sub.J+1, and P.sub.I, J+1 are read from the image memory, and a Boolean OR sum signal is generated therefrom which is converted to an analog signal. The picture element P.sub.I,J is illuminated in response to an analog signal representing the Boolean OR sum signal 1.

In one example, the compensating roller system is used to control a force resulting in deflection of a conveyor belt. In a specific implementation of such an example, a first rail is configured to support a first conveyor belt. A plurality of rollers is attached to the first rail and supports a conveyor belt moving over the rollers. The attachment allows each roller to pivot independently of movement of other rollers. Each of the rollers' movement is against a bias, and allows for deflection of the conveyor belt. A second rail may be configured as the first rail, and oriented define a channel for product movement between conveyor belts carried by the first and second rails.

摘要： A steel rule die for cutting cloth and synthetic materials. The cutting die includes a primary substrate and a plurality of cutting units that are removably attachable to the substrate in such a manner that they are easy to adjust, remove and replace. The cutting units include secondary substrates with lengths of steel rule attached to them. The cutting units are secured to the primary substrate. Each steel rule is fixedly attached to a secondary substrate that is substantially harder than the primary substrate. The secondary substrate distributes the cutting load applied to the rule over a large surface area on the primary substrate to prevent the cutting units from diving into the soft primary substrate. Substantially the entire length of the steel rule is supported by the secondary substrate, thereby yielding a rigid cutting unit that is not susceptible to deformation. The cutting units can also include bent internal cutting sections and adjustable and removable internal cutting units that allow scrap material to flow through the cutting die. Moreover, the secondary substrates can include openings for reducing the overall weight of the die without effecting the support it provides to the steel rule.

摘要： An optical fiber ramp management system provides a system, device and method for organizing, managing and storing optical fiber during and after the production of an opto-electronic assembly. Opto-electronic components are arranged on a substrate located at a first level so as to define a space between the components. The space defines an optical fiber pathway along the surface of the substrate through which optical fibers formed as fiber bundle travel. A ramp supports the fiber bundle as it extends from the substrate to a storage tray located at a second level. The optical fibers are retained on the storage tray as a plurality of unconstrained loops. The pathway, ramp and tray are formed to maintain the radius of curvature of the optical fiber at or above the minimum bend radius of the fiber.

摘要： A steel rule die for cutting cloth and synthetic materials. The cutting die includes a primary substrate and a plurality of cutting units that are removably attachable to the substrate in such a manner that they are easy to adjust, remove and replace. The cutting units include secondary substrates with lengths of steel rule attached to them to form cutting cavities. Studs mounted to the primary substrate interface with tear-drop shared holes in the secondary substrates with to restrain them against motion perpendicular to the surface of the primary substrate while permitting movement of the cutting units in a horizontal plane with respect to the primary substrate. Adjustable securing rails positioned along the peripheries of the primary substrate are moved toward the fixed securing rails to restrain the secondary substrates against lateral and longitudinal motion. By moving the adjustable securing rails away from the fixed securing rails, the cutting units can be temporarily moved away from each other for cleaning scrap material therebetween. Foam can be disposed between the cutting units to minimize the possibility of scrap material becoming lodged between the cutting units, and aid in the removal of any scrap material that happens to become lodged between the cutting units.

摘要： A liquid crystal display unit is described in which a first panel of pixel elements is used to control red and green portions of a displayed image using an additive technique while a second panel, having pixels aligned with the first panel pixels, controls the blue portion of the image through subtractive techniques. The resulting display system can provide enhanced brightness, resolution and color characteristics. The display system makes use of the fact that the eye is less sensitive to blue radiation for several visual parameters. As a result of the decreased sensitivity, the second (blue) panel can operate with less stringent requirements.
