    • Machining apparatus for machining a workpiece with a work-performing tool comprising a frame on which a tool carrier is mounted for reciprocal movement toward and away from the workpiece and a feed unit for moving the tool carrier between a partially retracted position and a fully retracted tool change position and for moving the tool carrier from the partially retracted position reciprocally through a machining stroke to machine a workpiece. The feed unit includes a drive transmitting assembly which is reciprocally mounted on the frame and which comprises extensible and contractible means connected to the tool carrier. A first drive means reciprocates the drive assembly while the extensible and contractible means remains fixed so as to move the tool carrier reciprocally through a machining stroke and a second drive means actuates extensible and contractible means to move the tool carrier between its partially and fully retracted positions.

    • A pen vise includes a jaw assembly having parallel front and rear grooved bars which are drawn together by two clamping bolts located at opposite ends of the jaw assembly in order to secure multiple workpieces between the grooved bars. The rear grooved bar has a longitudinal projection of dovetail cross section that slideably engages a groove of dovetail cross section on a base member of the vise, so that the jaw assembly can be moved in an X direction to position each of the workpieces beneath a machining axis. The jaw assembly is disposed between front and back walls of the base member. A securing bolt engages a threaded aperture in the front wall and both indexes and clamps the jaw assembly against the rear wall.

    • The present invention involves a detachable half shaft assembly of a vehicle wheel end and has a shaft bell and a disc rotor. The detachable half shaft comprises a preloaded bearing assembly and a detachable body receiving the preloaded bearing assembly. The preloaded bearing assembly has an inner surface formed through inboard and outboard ends thereof. The detachable body has an inboard interface at an inboard end and an outboard interface at an outboard end. The inboard interface is configured for connecting to the shaft bell and the outboard is configured or connecting to the disc rotor. The detachable body has a bearing receiving portion defined by the stepped boss and a roll formed base. The bearing receiving portion radially receives the inner surface of the preloaded bearing assembly. The stepped boss and the roll formed base engages the bearing assembly and the inboard and outboard ends to maintain the preload thereon when the detachable half shaft assembly is detached from the shaft bell or the disc rotor.
