摘要： An image processor includes a quantizing unit which quantizes input image data to data of at least three or more levels. A memory stores the quantized data on a picture unit basis, and an output unit outputs the stored image on the picture unit basis. The quantizing unit quantizes the image data of a present picture in accordance with the quantized data of a previous picture stored in the memory, and quantizes the input image data of one pixel to the data of three or more levels by using a plurality of threshold values each including an upper threshold value, a standard threshold value and a lower threshold value.

When processing data of the first line of a band by the error diffusion method, processing is started from data of a line a few lines above the first line.

摘要： A display control method and apparatus for quantizes input data to binary or multivalued data and delivers the quantized data to a display device such as a matrix panel display. When input data is quantized as by the error-diffusion method and displayed, an area in which there is no change in the display is scanned by multi-interlacing, whereas an area in which there is a change in the display is scanned preferentially and in interlaced fashion. As a result, a flicker-free image having a high picture quality can be displayed at high speed. Further, error produced by the error-diffusion method is reset at a prescribed line and, at the time of the error resetting operation, error-diffusion processing is executed from a line located several lines earlier, thereby preventing the occurrence of sparkling noise and making it possible to display an image of a high picture quality in which the continuity of error-diffusion processing is maintained.

摘要： In an apparatus for displaying the image of an input video signal, utilizing a clock signal which is phase synchronized with the input video signal, change in the state of the input video signal is made easily detectable. For this purpose there is disclosed a display apparatus provided with a clock generating circuit including a PLL circuit and adapted to generate a clock signal which is phase synchronized with the input video signal, and a display circuit for displaying the image relating to the input video signal utilizing the clock signal generated by the clock generating circuit. A detection circuit detects the state of the input video signal according to whether the PLL circuit is in the locked state.
