    • A dielectric filter exhibiting excellent filter characteristics in which the manufacturing cost is reduced by forming coupling loops for dielectric resonators generally in the same shape. First through fourth TM double-mode dielectric resonators are aligned in a row with their openings facing in the same direction. First and second metallic panels are screwed to the resonators to cover their openings. An input loop and an output loop are mounted on the first panel in such a manner that they obliquely face the intersecting areas of the respective dielectric members of the first and fourth dielectric resonators, respectively. Also attached to the first panel are generally "V"-shaped coupling loops. Also disclosed is a dielectric duplexer constructed of a plurality of such dielectric filters.

    • A method and an apparatus for exactly and automatically adjusting the characteristics of a dielectric filter in a short time period. The characteristic parameters of a dielectric filter are measured, electric parameters of a designed equivalent circuit of the filter are calculated with the use of characteristic parameters, characteristic adjusting portions of the dielectric filter are adjusted, while at the same time, adjustment functions indicating the variation amounts of electric parameters with respect to adjusting amounts are calculated with the use of the electric parameters and the adjusting amounts which have been changed by the above adjustment. Then, in accordance with simultaneous equations involving adjustment functions, an adjusting amount is calculated with the use of a difference between a present electric parameter and a desired electric parameter, thereby effecting an adjustment which is for example 50%. By repeatedly conducting the above treatments, the characteristic parameters of the filter will be allowed to successively get closer to the desired values.

    • In a sheet-type piezoelectric vibrator provided with a piezoelectric sheet made from a transparent organic polymer and electrodes formed on respective main surfaces that are opposite to each other of the piezoelectric sheet, an electrode material that is effectively used for making the vibrator colorless is provided. The first electrodes formed on one of the main surfaces of piezoelectric sheets are made of zinc oxide electrode layers, each mainly containing zinc oxide, and second electrodes formed on the other main surface of the piezoelectric sheets include polythiophene electrode layers made from a conductive polymer containing thiophene in a molecule structure thereof. Although the zinc oxide electrode layer is transparent, it is slightly yellowish, while, on the other hand, although the polythiophene electrode layer is also transparent, it is slightly bluish. Since the spectral characteristic of light transmitted through these two electrode layers is made substantially flat in the visible region, the coloring of the transmitted light is suppressed so that the layers appear colorless and transparent.

    • A dielectric resonator is constructed so as to have a substantially cruciform shape in cross section by including four plate components. A first set of opposed plate components have respective first principal center planes separated from each other and substantially parallel with each other. A second set of opposed plate components also have respective second principal center planes separated from each other and substantially parallel with each other. The first principal center planes are orthogonal to the second principal center planes. With this configuration, a TE01δy mode in which an electric-field vector rotates within the first set of opposed plate components and a TE01δz mode in which an electric-field vector rotates within the second set of opposed plate components are coupled.
