    • A thermoplastic resin composition of the present invention comprises a thermoplastic resin (A), and a polyolefin wax (B) having a number-average molecular weight (Mn), as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), in the range of 400 to 5,000, a melting point, as measured by a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), in the range of 65 to 130° C., and a density, as measured by a density gradient tube process, in the range of 850 to 980 kg/m3, and satisfying the relationship represented by the following formula (I) of the crystallization temperature (Tc(° C.), measured at a temperature lowering rate of 2° C./min.), as measured by a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and the density (D (kg/m3)): 0.501×D−366≧Tc  (I).The thermoplastic resin composition can reduce the load applied on the screw of an extruder upon plasticization, and has good extrusion productivity. A molded product of the present invention is obtained by molding the thermoplastic resin composition.

    • The additive (b) for a communication cable filler according to the present invention contains as a main component an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer (a) having a number-average molecular weight (Mn), measured by GPC, of 500 to 5,000 and having a crystallizing temperature (Tc (° C.), rate of temperature decrease: 2° C./min) measured by DSC and a density (D (kg/m3)) measured by a density gradient tube method, said Tc and D satisfy the following formula (1): 0.501×D(kg/m3)−366≧Tc(° C.)  (1). The communication cable filler (c) according to the invention is prepared by blending (X) 40 to 90% by mass of polybutene (d) having a number-average molecular weight of 200 to 2,400, (Y) 1 to 50% by mass of an oil (e) and (Z) 1 to 15% by mass of the ethylene/α-olefin copolymer (a). The additive for a communication cable filler and the communication cable filler are excellent in the filling workability and the oil retention properties of a cable jelly.

    • A thermal transfer recording medium comprising a thermally-melting layer comprising a polyolefin wax defined in the following items (i) to (iv): (i) the wax comprises an ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer made from ethylene and an α-olefin having 3 to 10 carbon atoms, (ii) the wax has a number-average molecular weight (Mn) of 400 to 3,000, the molecular weight being measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), (iii) the wax has a melting point of 60 to 120° C., the melting point being measured with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and (iv) the softening point (Ts (° C.)) of the wax and the penetration (Y (dmm)) thereof satisfy a specific relationship expression. The thermal transfer recording medium can provide printed images having a superior sharpness (dot reproducibility) and an improved abrasion resistance at a low energy.
