    • A holder for a window glass of a vehicle which has a reduced number of parts, which can make the mounting operation simpler, thereby lowering costs, and which can prevent the window glass from having play or loosening. The holder comprises a nut and a bolt. The nut has a female screw sleeve portion which is to be inserted with a clearance into a mounting hole formed in the window glass, and a holding plate member radially outwardly extending from the sleeve portion. The bolt has a screw shaft member to be screwed into the female screw sleeve portion, and a holding plate member radially outwardly extending from the screw shaft member. In addition, a cushion layer made of a synthetic thermoplastic resin elastomer is attached to the inside surface of each holding plate member. The cushion layer is provided at its inner circumferential edge with a short sleeve portion for protecting an edge of the mounting hole of the window glass.

    • A tapping screw engages a member to be engaged with a base plate made of metal by tapping a burring hole formed on the base plate. The tapping screw includes a main body having a shank and a head formed at a base end of the shank. A reduced diameter shank portion extends from a fore end portion of the shank of the main body, and has a taper angle .theta. of 9.degree. to 14.degree. and a substantially rounded triangle shaped cross-section. Recesses having no thread are formed at three faces of the reduced diameter shank portion so that a circumferential width of each recess is gradually reduced toward a tip end of the reduced diameter shank portion. Each recess is formed by a steep face facing a screwing direction of the tapping screw and a gentle face oppositely facing the steep face to form a groove.

    • A barrel plating method wherein each box containing pieces to be plated is provided with a kanban corresponding to the pieces contained in the box. The kanban of each box is read by an apparatus before the pieces are transferred from the box to a plating barrel, so that a plating coefficient corresponding to the information read from the kanban is retrieved from a host computer in which plating coefficients for various kinds of pieces are stored. The plating coefficient retrieved corresponding to the kanban of each box is proportional to a value of plating current to be supplied to a unit weight of pieces contained in the box. A value of plating current for each barrel is automatically calculated by multiplying the plating coefficient by the measured weight of the pieces put in the barrel. Barrel plating is performed by supplying each barrel with the value of the calculated plating current from power sources that correspond in number to barrels that are subjected to a plating process at a given time.
