摘要： Structures and methods relating to electrodes for incorporation into a feedthrough with a profile adapted for subcutaneous sensing of physiologic and cardiac signals. Electrode assemblies are adapted for integration with feedthrough to enable maximal electrode spacing, minimal myopotential electrical noise and provide reliable insulation from the IMD housing. Various structures and manufacturing processes are implemented to provide a large sensing surface with a low profile. The subcutaneous sensing electrode assembly provides a leadless sensing system and further enhances installation and follow-up procedures.

摘要： A capacitive filter feedthrough assembly and method of making the same are disclosed for shielding an implantable medical device such as pacemaker or defibrillator from electromagnetic interference or noise. A ferrule is adapted for mounting onto a conductive device housing by welding, soldering, brazing or gluing, and supports a terminal pin for feedthrough passage to a housing interior. A capacitive filter is mounted at the inboard side of a device housing, with capacitive filter electrode plate sets coupled respectively to the housing and the terminal pin by an electrically conductive combination of solder and brazing. In one embodiment of the invention, multiple capacitive filters are provided in an array within a common base structure, where each capacitive filter is associated with a respective terminal pin.

摘要： A filtered feedthrough that does not block passage of gas in a helium leak test and enables testing of the hermeticity of the feedthrough while inhibiting high voltage arcing is disclosed in single filtered feedthrough and multiple filtered feedthrough array configurations. Each filtered feedthrough comprises a ferrule, an insulator, a feedthrough pin, a filter element, and a pre-formed insulative barrier or spacer located in an interior space between the feedthrough insulator and the filter element rather than a non-conductive adhesive filling the interior space. A gas flow path or pathway extends from the interior space to the exterior of the feedthrough bypassing each filter element. Any leak test gas applied in a hermeticity test and passing through defects in the feedthrough insulator or its attachment to the feedthrough pin or ferrule enters the interior space. The gas pathway extends from an interior space through one or more side wall hole of the ferrule and/or through one or more gap between the ferrule interior surface and the outer surface of the filter element.
