    • An information processing system providing a composed service to a user device is provided. The system includes: a service acquisition unit configured to acquire descriptions defining raw services; a capability information acquisition unit configured to acquire capability information; a composition unit configured to compose the acquired descriptions to create a description which defines a composed service to be supported by the user device based on the acquired capability information; a presentation unit configured to present the created description to the user device; a request acquisition unit configured to acquire a request for the composed service from the user device; a specifying unit configured to specify raw services composing the requested composed service; a processing unit configured to gather responses from the specified raw services composing the requested composed service, and to create the composite response; and a response unit configured to respond the composite response to the user device.

The virtual service invokes native services provisioned by a service provider.     • There is provided a network node for detecting a communication device (stealth device) in a local network and identifying a type of the detected communication device. According to the embodiments of the present invention, the network node 200 detects a search message sent out by a stealth device, and sends a response message to the stealth device as if the network node 200 were a target node to be searched for. The network node 200 then receives a request message from the stealth device, and extracts, from the request message, identification information (e.g., a User-Agent header) that corresponds to a type of the stealth device. The identifying unit 208, which may be located inside or outside the network node 200, identifies the type of the stealth device based on the extracted identification information.

    • A method and apparatus for enabling remote access to a local gateway (302) of a local network from a remote device (300) located outside the local network. Capabilities and credentials of the remote device and of the local gateway are configured independently in an IMS core (304) for the remote access. One or more users are also authorized for remote access to the local network by adding an IMS identity of each authorized user to an IMS based ACL (Access Control List). An access request to the local gateway from the remote device will be accepted if the IMS identity of the remote device user is present in the IMS based ACL. A remote access connection can then be established by means of the configured capabilities and credentials of the remote device and the local gateway.

The initial standard LCP packet produces compatibility with the standard protocol, whereas the sending of masked packets containing configuration information (PAP, CHAP, ICPC, etc.) allows two peers operating in accordance with the invention to accomplish the configuration phases in parallel, such that a link can be configured and ready to transmit network level packets, such as IP packets, much more quickly than with the standard protocol, such as PPP.
