The outer filter element typically functions as a coalescing element and the inner element typically functions as a particulate filter element. The disclosed filter cartridges may be structured for separating water from a hydrocarbon-based liquid fuel as the fuel moves through the cartridge from outside to inside.

摘要： A water separator and particulate filter with a first or outer stage configured to coalesce water from fluid such as fuel, and a second or inner stage configured to separate coalesced water from the fluid and also remove fine solid contaminants from the fluid. The coalescing stage includes a pleated cylinder of polymeric media. The pleated cylinder has pleat valleys and downstream pleat tips, and release sites defined at the downstream pleat tips. The separator stage includes a non-pleated cylinder of polymeric media surrounding and in contact with outer pleat tips of a multi-layer pleated cylinder.

摘要： A reusable oil filter adapted to filter oil used in an engine includes a housing operatively connected to the engine, filter media disposed within the housing, a singular backwashing inlet operatively connected on the housing and an oil drain operatively connected with the housing. Pressurized air delivered through the backwashing inlet forces filtered oil to backflow through the filter media displacing contaminated oil from the filter media and creates an air-oil foam for further cleaning the filter media while the housing remains connected to the engine.

摘要： A fluid filter assembly (20) includes an axially extending tubular housing shell (24) having an integral closed end (26), a distally opposite integral open end (28), and a sidewall (30) extending integrally between the ends. An annular filter cartridge (32) is in the housing shell. An adapter plate (48) has a first set of threads (50) thread mounting the adapter plate to the machine (22) from which fluid is filtered, and a second set of threads (54) engaging the threads (56) of the open end of the housing shell in thread tightened engagement. The housing shell is a singular one-piece member of sufficient stock and thickness at the open end to be internally threaded and to structurally support direct threaded engagement with the adapter plate without an intermediate structural support member. The housing shell sidewall extending integrally between the ends is of sufficient stock and thickness to prevent torsional crimping thereof upon thread tightened engagement, including when the integral closed end of the housing shell is gripped and turned to turn the housing shell at the integral open end into direct threaded engagement with the adapter plate. In addition to simplified reduced part content, easy change of the filter cartridge is also enabled, wherein the adapter plate remains on the machine when the housing shell is removed.
