According to the invention, the recesses (24, 26) have a different form or different dimensions or are offset perpendicular to the movement direction and that for various combinations of electric appliance (2) and battery pack (4), the form, the dimensions and/or offset of the recesses (24, 26) are matched to the form, dimensions and position of the bolt (14; 36; 38; 40; 42), such that the bolt (14; 36; 38; 40; 42) engages either only in the front recess (24), only in the rear recess (26), or sequentially firstly in the front and then in the rear recess (24, 26).
