    • In a mobile telecommunication system the transmission quality is dependent on a wide range of radio conditions. A method for extracting a useful estimation of the radio environment of a mobile station in communication in order to predict how the radio conditions will change in the near future for a considered mobile station in the near future. A measurement report is sent from the mobile station to the base station. The quality measure in the measurement report is filtered over the area by a smoothing filter (220), and then processed through an updating filter (230) resulting in a time varying map (240). Several maps are classified (260). Classified data are grouped (270) resulting in the final map, which is stored in a database (280). The final map may be used to enhance the performance of radio network algorithms.

    • A method for aligning a truck chassis with a required position relative to a crane, in which the truck is scanned by a sensor means. The laser scanner is located on the crane in such a way that it will be able to scan at least one of a plurality of loading/unloading lanes. The truck is scanned when it enters into one of the loading/unloading lanes in order to detect/identify at least one edge of the truck. The distance between the identified edge of the truck and a fixed point on the crane is measured. A signal is generated that enables a truck driver to drive the truck into a required position in the loading/unloading lane for accurately receiving or delivering a container.

    • A storage system, having one or multiple shelves infinitely adjustable on an upright member. The upright member is a singular support structure with at least three parallel grooves running longitudinally below a front face of the vertical support, the grooves having a continuous sectional profile and each groove opening in the front face through a channel. The shelf or shelves are formed on a back side with at least three tongues integrally formed in the shelf and adjoining the back side through a neck portion. The tongues are insertable in the grooves while the neck portions occupy the channels. The neck portions are curved so that the tongues project upwards from the shelf upper surface at a slanting angle, such that the tongues are frictionally arrested in the grooves when the shelf is pivoted to bring the tongues to a tilted position in the grooves.

    • A method for handling containers in which containers are stacked using a moveable crane with a travelling part such as a trolley (8) arranged to lift, move and land a container (7) on a stacking target (15) in a stack comprising a least one ground container (1). The method is characterised by the steps of measuring the horizontal position of the stacking target (15), determining the horizontal position of the ground container (1), and comparing the relative positions of stacking target (15) and ground container (1). An overlap is developed from the relative positions of the stacking target (15) and the ground container (1), and compared to predetermined limits. If the overlap is within limits a desired landing position (25) on the stacking target (15) is selected for the container (7). Advantages include automatic stacking, faster stacking, safer stacks and dense packing of stacks in a container terminal.
