    • A bumper arrangement for a front end or a rear end of an automobile having a bumper cover enclosing the bumper arrangement has a transverse support having a first and a second end. First and second spacer consoles are connected to the first and second ends of the transverse support, respectively. First and second stop plates are connected to the first and second spacer consoles opposite the transverse support. The first and second stop plates secure the bumper arrangement to longitudinal support beams of the car body extending in the longitudinal direction of the automobile. A transverse beam is positioned below the transverse support in a mounted position of the bumper arrangement. Spacer stays connect the transverse beam to the stop plates and are positioned below the spacer consoles. The transverse support and/or the spacer consoles, at least over portions thereof, have two or more deformation areas arranged next to one another in the longitudinal direction of the automobile. These deformations areas have different force levels.

    • A lightweight, plastic coated component is in the shape of a three-dimensional shaped part with a metal layer provided with access apertures through which the plastic may flow. The component includes stiffening ribs created by the plastic that are positioned within hollow areas of the three-dimensional shaped part, and whose plastic extends through the apertures of the metal insert. The component is formed as a metal insert spray-covered with plastic for the purposes of optimizing the plastic spray process and to achieve an inner bond between the metal insert and the stiffening ribs. The metal insert includes a large number of evenly-distributed holes, and these holes form a flow resistance and also a flow enabler for the molten mass of plastic during spraying. There are projections present at each of the holes that are covered by the plastic coating. The stiffening ribs facing away from the sprayed side have a connecting cross-section that extends into the metal insert via a number, or a large number, of holes in the metal insert.

The semiconductor component is enclosed in a casing. Also described is a method for manufacturing the sensor element, in which a semiconductor component having a gas-sensitive layer is attached by the flip-chip method to a substrate in such a way that the gas-sensitive layer faces the substrate. After that, the casing is applied by a plasma sputtering method, in particular an atmospheric plasma sputtering method. Finally, a use of the sensor element in the exhaust system of an internal combustion engine is also described.
