摘要： A one-time use device to deliver preservative-free follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) solution is disclosed. The device includes a needle covered by a sliding needle shield, which covers the needle in all modes of the device. The device can be placed into a ready-to-use position in four or fewer user steps. The device has a knob for setting a desired dose of FSH. The knob includes longitudinally spaced elements respectively corresponding to the lock position and the seven or fewer discrete dosing positions. The device locks after one use and cannot be reused thereafter.

摘要： A safety shield system for a needle cannula of a pen needle injector or similar device, wherein the safety shield may be retracted from a first position enclosing the needle to a second position exposing the needle for injection. The safety shield system permits retraction of the safety shield during use, but extends the shield enclosing the needle in a locked position following use. The shield system is utilized with a pen needle injector having a double ended needle cannula mounted in a hub received on the open end of the pen needle injector. The assembly is disposed of by removing the assembly and needle cannula hub and storing the assembly in the cup-shaped cap enclosing the exposed end of the needle cannula within the cap. The cap includes internal radial ribs preventing retraction of the shield prior to removing the cap preventing inadvertently piercing the cap during assembly.

摘要： An intradermal needle assembly (10) for injecting a substance into the skin of an animal is disclosed. A hub (16) is attachable to a container (12) storing the substance. A needle (18) is supported by the hub (16) and has a forward tip (20) extending away from the hub (16). A limiter (22) surrounds the needle (18) and extends away from the hub (16) toward the forward tip (20) of the needle (18). The limiter (22) includes a generally flat skin engaging surface (24) extending in a plane generally perpendicular to an axis of the needle (18) and is adapted to be received against the skin (26) to administer an intradermal injection. The limiter (22) is movable between a first position (28), wherein the skin engaging surface (24) shields the needle (18), and a second position (30), wherein the forward tip (20) extends beyond the skin (26) upon depressing the skin engaging surface (24) against the skin (26).
