    • The electrical switching apparatus includes a housing (10), a coil (20) arranged in the housing (10), at least two switch terminals (35,50,60) arranged in the housing (10), a magnetic angle piece (30) in the housing (10) including a core (32) for the coil (20) and an armature (42) resiliently mounted on the magnetic angle piece (30) for making electrical contact between two switch terminals (35,50,60). The magnetic angle piece is preferably made by a method including punching or stamping a nearly rectangular piece (39) from sheet metal, forming a U-shaped opening around a separately bendable tongue (32a) in a central region of the nearly rectangular piece (39) so that side pieces (30a) are formed on opposite sides of the U-shaped opening (38) and a connecting piece (31a) connects the side pieces (30a) on another end of the rectangular piece (39) opposite from one switch terminal; bending the separately bendable tongue (32a) at right angles to a remaining portion of the nearly rectangular piece (39) including the side pieces (30a) to form the core (32) of the coil (20) and bending the connecting piece (31a) at substantially right angles to form an upper portion (31) of the magnetic angle piece arranged substantially parallel to the core (32).

    • To mount control switches for convenient operation by the operator of motor vehicles, a cantilevered, free standing multi-faceted elongated hollow box like structure is secured to the steering post housing so that it is located between the steering wheel and the dashboard, spaced from the dashboard. A plurality of touch-sensitive switches are located on the surfaces of the structure defined by the facets thereof. The structure includes printed, or integrated circuits to which the switches are connected which, in turn, are attached to a cable which is separably connected to the cabling of the vehicle. Preferably, discrete switch functions, such as headlight energization, windshield wiper controls, and the like are mounted on discrete, different surfaces of the box like structures, whereas similar functions with different control effects, such as windshield wiper speed can be mounted on the same surface, so that erroneous operation of a switch will not initiate an erroneous function, but at best only an erroneous mode of operation of the selected function.

    • To measure a wide range of flow rates, and particularly such low flow rates as 0.5 liters per hour, while being able to accurately also measure rates of about 100 liters per hour, fluid is introduced axially into a rotor (14, 36, 40) which has outlet openings (24, 36, 45) positioned at their circumference, the rotor being rotated by reaction on the rotor upon fluid flow from the outlet openings. The rotor operates within a fluid flow chamber (15) from which is conducted outwardly through a duct positioned thereabove. Inflow of fluid may be guided for linear flow by guide ribs (13). The rotor may be a hollow disk-like structure (FIGS. 1-3) with spiral guide vanes therebetween, or a T-shaped tubular structure (FIGS. 4-6). If fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine is to be measured in which pressurized fluid is supplied to the engine and excess returned, two such flow meters can be combined on a common shaft, with respectively oppositely facing outlet openings (36, 45), so that differential flow only is being measured, hence accurately measuring fuel consumption by the engine. Rotation of the rotor is sensed by an electro-optical sensor (29, 37).
