摘要： An injection device for injecting a fluid into an object, the injection device including a plunger assembly for operative engagement with a syringe adapted to contain the fluid and permit ejection of the fluid therefrom via a syringe outlet, the plunger assembly being displaceable in a first direction which causes at least some of the fluid contained in the syringe to be ejected from the syringe via the syringe outlet and an inadvertent fluid ejection prevention assembly coupled to the plunger assembly for preventing ejection of fluid from the syringe in situations where the syringe outlet is neither in operative engagement with a vial adaptor suitable for providing fluid communication with the interior of a vial nor in fluid communication with an injection site within the object.

摘要： A safe auto-needle device for injection, comprising: a main housing; a syringe-support for receiving a disposable prefilled syringe; said syringe comprises: a piston; a proximal end; and a distal end terminating in a needle covered by a needle sheath (NS); a drive mechanism for advancing said syringe-support distally towards an injection site; a tubular needle shield; moveable from: a needle covering position, to partially exposed, to needle irreversibly concealed; said generally tubular needle shield comprising a distal end for contacting an injection site, and a proximal end; a spring urging distal movement of said needle shield; and said needle shield comprising a spring seat; an NS remover, designed to mate with and irreversibly grip said NS, for removal of said NS prior to injection; a locking mechanism preventing premature advancement of said needle; a plunger rod for engaging said piston, wherein depressing of said plunger is manually controllable; wherein in use of said device, said NS remover is removed; said distal end of said needle shield is pressed upon an injection site, releasing said locking mechanism, and driving said syringe-support and said syringe, distally until needle penetration; and upon depressing of said plunger, a medicament may be injected. The invention additionally provides a novel two-component NS remover.

摘要： Exemplary embodiments provide a needle shield remover that reliably engages with a distal cap of an automatic injection device and with one or more needle shields coupled to a syringe of the device. When a user removes the distal cap, the needle shield remover reliably removes the needle shields (e.g., a soft needle shield and a rigid needle shield) from the syringe, thereby exposing the injection needle for performing an injection. In an exemplary assembly method, a needle shield remover is engaged to a needle shield coupled to a syringe, prior to insertion of the syringe and needle shield remover assembly into a housing of the device. This exemplary assembly method allows visual inspection, outside the housing of the device, to ensure that the needle shield remover is correctly and reliably engaged to the needle shield before the syringe and needle shield remover assembly is inserted into the housing.
