    • A system for applying a coating to an untextured portion of a destination surface comprises a tube member defining a container opening, texture material within the tube member, a sponge member defining an applicator surface and a sponge opening. The texture material comprises a binder and visually perceivable discrete particles. The sponge member is secured to the tube member such that the texture material can flow out of the tube member through the sponge opening. The texture material is displaced out of the tube member and onto the applicator surface. The applicator surface of the sponge member is displaced substantially along a dispensing axis perpendicular to the applicator surface towards and away from the destination surface with the applicator surface substantially parallel to the destination surface to transfer the texture material to the destination surface.

    • An aerosol texturing system for applying a layer of texture material on an uncoated portion of a substrate substantially to match a coated portion of the substrate, comprises an aerosol assembly, texture material, and propellant material. The aerosol assembly defines a product chamber and is selectively operable in a first mode in which the product chamber is sealed and in a second mode in which fluid is allowed to flow out of the product chamber along a dispensing passageway. The texture material and propellant material are disposed within the product chamber. The texture material comprises a base portion and a particulate portion comprising at least one particulate material. When the aerosol assembly is in the second mode, the propellant material is adapted to force the texture material out of the aerosol assembly along the dispensing passageway and onto the uncoated portion of the substrate.

    • A method of applying texture material to a destination surface defining a pre-textured portion formed by a spray system and an untextured portion, comprising the following steps. A flexible container, texture, material, a sponge base, a resilient sponge are provided. The resilient sponge is adhered to the sponge base to form a sponge assembly. The texture material is arranged within the container chamber, and the sponge member is fixed relative to the container. Texture material is forced out of the container member and onto an applicator surface. At least a portion of the texture material on the applicator surface is transferred to the untextured portion of the destination surface by displacing the container member along the dispensing axis towards the destination surface with the applicator surface substantially parallel to the destination surface. The container member is then displaced away from the destination surface along the dispensing axis with the applicator surface substantially parallel to the destination surface such that an exposed portion of the particulate material on the untextured portion of the destination surface stands out from the destination surface and is visually perceptible.

    • A method of patching a destination surface to substantially match a structure of an existing sprayed on visible texture pattern. A sponge member is displaced in a dabbing direction towards and away from the destination surface to transfer texture material to the destination surface. Individual particles of the texture material are supported by binder on the applicator surface such that at least a portion of the structure at least some of the individual particles supported on the applicator surface visibly extend from the destination surface. The portion of the structure of the individual particles supported by the binder that extends outwardly from the binder on the destination surface forms a visible structure on the destination surface. The visible structure substantially matches the structure of the existing sprayed on visible texture pattern.
