    • A high resolution 2D/3D switchable display apparatus includes a display panel having display elements arranged in pixel units and configured to display an image. A lenticular lens array includes a plurality of lenticular lenses arranged in a horizontal direction and dividing light corresponding to a signal emitted from the display panel to visual regions of left and right eyes. A spatial optical modulator includes a plurality of cells configured to switch on or off in synchronization with a vertical scanning time of the display panel, wherein each of the plurality of cells is changed to a transparent or opaque state. The display panel sequentially displays an even field including even sequence data of a left eye image and a right eye image and an odd field including odd sequence data of the left eye image and the right eye image.

    • An apparatus and method for driving a liquid crystal display to improve the quality of moving pictures are provided. The apparatus includes a transition check unit that determines whether an input image signal between a first frame and a second frame has changed and whether an input image signal between the second frame and a third frame has changed; an overdrive control unit that overdrives the input image signal in the second frame in an overdrive direction if the transition check unit determines that the input image signal between the first and second frames has changed, wherein the overdrive direction is one of an upper direction and lower direction; and an overdrive compensation unit that changes the input image signal in the third frame in an opposite direction to the overdrive direction if the transition check unit determines that the input image signal between the second and third frames has not changed.

    • An autostereoscopic display system is provided. The autostereoscopic display system includes: an image panel being divided into two or more display regions, each of which alternately displays an image for a left eye and an image for a right eye; an optical shutter which is spaced apart from the image panel, including three or more shutter segments capable of being switched between a transparent state and a non-transparent state, and guiding an image for a left eye and an image for a right eye which are displayed on the image panel to left and right eyes of a viewer, respectively; and a control unit which controls the optical shutter being synchronized with the image for a left eye and the image for a right eye which are displayed on the image panel.

    • A stereoscopic display for switching between two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) images. The stereoscopic display includes a display device providing an image and a parallax barrier unit that transmits all incident light in a 2D mode and forms barriers to separate an image for a left eye from an image for a right eye in a 3D mode by moving two facing polarization grating screens relative to each other. The polarization grating screens have a grating pattern such that two kinds of birefringence elements changing the directions of polarization of incident light into different directions are alternately disposed horizontally and vertically, and each row of the birefringence elements is shifted with respect to a previous row by a predetermined horizontal distance.

    • Provided is a two-dimension/three-dimension (2D/3D) switchable display. The 2D/3D switchable display includes: a display device which generates an image; a first optical element which includes convex lens cells; a second optical element which includes concave lens cells that-coincide with the convex lens cells of the first optical element; and a driving unit which moves at least one of the first and second optical elements along an optical axis, wherein a two dimensional (2D) image is formed when the first optical element and the second optical element are matched with each other and a three dimensional (3D) image is formed when the first optical element and the second optical element are separated a predetermined distance from each other along the optical axis.
