摘要： An apparatus for extracting and inserting a circuit card into a socket, the apparatus includes a tool device releasably mountable to opposing sides defining the circuit card. The tool device includes a pair of frame members having a friction fit feature for attachment to the opposing side edges defining the circuit card; and a sliding plane translatable between the pair of frame members. Upward translation of the sliding plane relative to the fixed pair of frame members acts to release latches on the connector to extract the circuit card from the connector upon upward translation of the pair of frame members, and downward translation of the sliding plane relative to the fixed pair of frame members acts to transfer a force to the circuit card, thereby inserting the circuit card with the connector. The apparatus further includes a tool guide having two members opposing each other, each member including a plurality of slots, each configured to guide a respective edge of the tool device therethrough for alignment with the connector.

摘要： An apparatus for supporting at least one electrical connector body, the apparatus includes a connector housing mountable to a printed circuit board (PCB). The connector housing includes at least one base member for attachment to the PCB; and at least one support post each spaced apart from one another and extending from the at least one base member. The support posts inserted into one or more clearance holes in the PCB are configured to receive the one or more support posts. When a lateral force is applied to the connector body, the support posts acts as a support and transfers the lateral force to the PCB, thereby reducing a rotational moment at a base of each connector body connected to the PCB.

摘要： LGA connectors are fabricated with buttons or spring contacts preformed to different heights to accommodate the initial topography of a typical module or PCB of a particular product type. This is accomplished during fabrication by measuring topographies of mating surfaces of a first electronic device and of a second electronic device; fabricating interposer contacts to form opposing non-planar sides having respective inverse topographies for contacting the mating surfaces; and sandwiching the interposer between the first and second electronic devices with the opposing sides in contact with respective mating surfaces. For those LGA types made by molding techniques such as the metal-in-polymer type (eg. Tyco Electronics MPI, or Shin Etsu RP) or the Metal-on-Elastomer type (IBM), using molds with the desired topography provides the desired LGA topography. For those LGAs made of metal springs, cantilevers, armatures and the like, the desired topography is imposed by shaping of the buttons during or after fabrication using a sizing die with the desired topography.
