    • A video surveillance system is disclosed. The system includes a model database storing a plurality of models and a vector database storing a plurality of vectors of recently observed trajectories. The system includes a model building module that builds a new motion model corresponding to the motion data of the current trajectory data structure. The system generates a current trajectory data structure having motion data and abnormality scores. The system also includes a database purging module configured to determine a subset of vectors that is most similar to the current trajectory data structure based on a measure of similarity between the subset of vectors and the current trajectory data structure. The database purging module is further configured to replace one of the motion models in the model database with the new motion model based on an amount of vectors in the subset vectors the recentness of the subset of vectors.

    • Disclosed is a system and method for monitoring processes. The method includes the steps of monitoring at least one process in real time, collecting information on the at least one monitored process, analyzing the collected information in real time using at least one dynamic, updatable filter, identifying at least one triggering item or event matching at least one predetermined filter criterion, providing information regarding the at least one triggering item to an event processing engine for examination, and taking at least one action in real time in response to the identified triggering item or event.     • An embodiment of a method includes generating a regulated output signal from a regulated intermediate signal in response to a reference signal and the regulated output signal, and generating the regulated intermediate signal from an input signal in response to the regulated output signal and the regulated intermediate signal. By generating one regulated signal (e.g., a regulated output voltage) from another regulated signal (e.g., a regulated intermediate voltage), one may significantly reduce the magnitude of the ripple component of the one regulated signal as compared to a conventional regulation technique. Furthermore, by generating the regulated intermediate signal in response to the regulated output signal, one may significantly increase the efficiency of the regulation as compared to conventional signal regulation.
