    • A method for manufacturing a liquid jet recording head comprises of the steps of calculating the difference between the distance B from the first heater on the element substrate to the cut face of the element substrate and the distance A from the first flow path groove on the ceiling plate to the abutment reference of the ceiling plate, measuring the amounts of deviation in the positional precisions in the state where the element substrates and the ceiling plates are actually positioned, working out a correction value from the distributional condition of such deviations, feeding back the correction value for determining the corrected amount of retraction. Then, after the abutment reference of the ceiling plate is allowed to abut upon the cut face of the element substrate by means of a push jig, retraction is performed by moving the ceiling plate by means of a retraction jig in the reverse direction with respect to the element substrate, hence positioning the ceiling plate and the element substrate. With the method thus arranged, it is made possible to perform positioning in a higher precision at lower costs with a shorter tact time, thus manufacturing a highly precise and highly reliable liquid jet recording head.

    • An ink jet recording head includes a liquid discharge head unit having discharge ports and ink flow paths; a liquid container holder unit capable of holding liquid containers and having supply paths for supplying liquid to the liquid discharge head units; and a buffer chamber for allowing gas to exist in the liquid supply paths, the buffer chamber being formed by coupling the liquid discharge head to the liquid supply holder unit. The ink jet recording head enables the buffer chamber allowing to gas to exist to be sufficiently cleaned, and requires no additional process for the formation of the buffer chamber thereof. Furthermore, the ink jet recording head can inhibit ink oscillations in flow paths during ink discharge to keep a stable discharging state, thereby acquiring a high-quality image at all times.

    • An orthogonal two-axis moving apparatus includes a first guide member which extends along one direction and is attached to a stationary position, a slide block which is slidably supported on the first guide member and is movable in the one direction, and a second guide member which extends along the other direction perpendicular to the one direction and is supported by the slide block to be movable in the other direction. First and second rollers are pivotally supported on two ends of the first guide member, a third roller is pivotally supported on one end of the second guide member, and intermediate rollers are pivotally supported on four corner portions of the slide block. A coupling belt is provided and has two ends of which are fixed to the other end of the second guide member and which is looped in a cross shape on the first to third rollers and the four intermediate rollers. In addition, a first origin detection device detects an original position of the slide block along the one direction, and a second origin detection device for detecting an origin position of the second guide member along the other direction.
