摘要： An optical disc of a recordable type or a rewritable type has a plurality of recording layers including first and second recording layers. A laser beam is applied to the second recording layer through a used area in the first recording layer to record arbitrary information on at least a part of the second recording layer. The used area in the first recording layer has been used for at least one of information recording and data recording. Positional information is generated. The generated positional information is of a blank area in the second recording layer which occurs due to the presence of an unused area in the first recording layer. The blank area adjoins the unused area. The generated positional information is recorded on a predetermined area in the optical disc.

摘要： A rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus for reproducing a rotary recording medium in which a plurality of fields of video signals are recorded for each track turn on a spiral track comprises a reproducing transducer having a reproducing element for scanning over tracks on the rotary recording medium to reproduce recorded signals, and shifting device responsive to a signal applied thereto for shifting the reproducing element towards the outer side or the inner side on the rotary recording medium, and a circuit for producing shifting a signal in order to shift the reproducing element by one track pitch towards the outer side on the rotary recording medium every time the reproducing element reaches one predetermined position on the rotary recording medium, and capable of producing a shifting signal for shifting the reproducing element towards the outer side or the inner side on the rotary recording medium according to the slow-motion ratio and the direction of the slow-motion reproduction when the reproducing element reaches another predetermined position on the rotary recording medium. The shifting signal is supplied to the shifting device. The tracks are reproduced a plurality of times with respect to each track turn, to perform a slow-motion reproduction.

摘要： A periodical signal detection circuit is designed for use in an apparatus which reproduces an information signal and a periodical signal from a recording medium. A separation circuit separates the periodical signal from the reproduced signal. A reference pulse is generated at a repetition frequency which is the same as the frequency of the periodical signal. A first gate circuit responds to the periodical signal obtained from the separation circuit and to the reference pulse signal. A first counter produces an output by counting N of the reference pulses (N is an integer greater than or equal to 2). A second gate circuit passes the signal from the separation circuit according to the output of the first counter. An output circuit detects the signals in responsive to the reference pulse, and the output of either the first or the second gate circuit.

The polyester film for a decorative plate or a decorative sheet can generate no harmful gases upon burning such as incineration, can produce a picture pattern having a high design value thereon without adverse influence by the color tone of the substrate, and is excellent in dimensional stability.

The rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus comprises a rotary recording medium supporting member for supporting the rotary recording medium left within the reproducing apparatus so that the rotary recording medium is supported above a turntable by an operation in which the case is inserted into and then extracted from the reproducing apparatus, a driving source for operating in one direction to raise the rotary recording medium supporting member and operating in a reverse direction to lower the rotary recording medium supporting member, and a control circuit for controlling the driving source to operate in the one direction when the control circuit detects the insertion of the jacket into the reproducing apparatus in a state where the rotary recording medium is supported by the supporting member and is being lowered with the supporting member operated by the driving source which is operating in the reverse direction.

摘要： An apparatus reproduces signals which are recorded on a rotary medium having a main information signal recorded on a spiral main track, with first and second tracking control reference signals which are recorded on sub-tracks positioned between adjacent main tracks. A third tracking control reference signal is recorded on the main or sub-track, on each track turn, during an interval corresponding to the vertical synchronizing signal, within a vertical blanking period of the main information signal. The first and second reference signals are recorded within an interval excluding the interval corresponding to that of the vertical synchronizing signal. A kick pulse is generated for shifting the reproducing element to an adjacent track during a special reproduction mode so that the reproducing element is shifted at an interval other than the interval in which the reproducing element reproduces the vertical synchronizing signal.
