    • Methods, a system, and a computer readable medium are presented that detect and classify mass-like regions exhibiting spiculated and/or dense characteristics with high sensitivity and at acceptable false positive rates. One or more suspicious masses are identified in medical imagery of the breast. In accordance with certain embodiments, for each suspicious mass located, a quantitative measure of spiculation and quantitative measure of density are computed. At least one classification scheme is then selected for each suspicious mass according to both quantitative measures. Each classification scheme is developed using true positives and false positives with similar quantitative measures. In accordance with certain other embodiments, for each suspicious mass located, a measure of breast location is computed. At least one classification scheme is then selected for each suspicious mass according to the measure of breast location. Each classification scheme is developed using true positives and false positives that appear in the same breast location. In one embodiment, the location measure determines whether a suspicious mass appears inside or outside of the parenchyma region of the breast.

    • Systems, computer-readable media, methods, and a medical imaging system are presented that compute and output a density estimate of a breast. The density estimate may be computed using information from at least two digital images, wherein each image represents a view of at least a portion of the breast from a different specific angle. The density estimate may be computed using information from at least one digital breast image and at least one digital opposite breast image, wherein the at least one digital breast image represents a view of at least a portion of the breast from a specific angle and wherein the at least one digital opposite breast image represents a view of at least a portion of the opposite breast. The density estimate may be computed using computed parenchyma information, the parenchyma information being computed using texture information and density information derived from at least one digital image of at least a portion of the breast. The density estimate may be computed using computed parenchyma information, the parenchyma information being computed from at least one digital image using computed vessel line information, the computed vessel line information being computed from the at least one digital image.

    • Methods and systems for prefunded accounts are disclosed, which feature controlled credit limits on cards at the time of prefunding validation, creation of files that are electronically passed to a funding source, and implementation of a single use account. Various types of funding mechanisms can be utilized, including, ACH, wire transfer, or traditional check-based systems. According to the invention, an invoice that names a buying organization can be received by an entity offering prefunded account solutions. This can result in payment instructions being generated and funds being transferred from the organization to a funding entity. Once approval of a payment is received, a funded account can be created by transferring funding information by the solutions provider on behalf of the funding entity to a payment facilitator. When the seller generates account charge instructions, funds can be transferred from the payment facilitator to the seller.

    • A method and system for sharing intermediate medical image processing results among several different applications is disclosed. An application server serves as mediator between a medical image database storage, image processing applications, and a workstation display resident on a computer network. The application server polices the intermediate processing results from several different image processing applications in order for the image processing applications to share their intermediate results. By sharing the intermediate results, the application server helps to eliminate duplicate processing and inconsistent results between the image processing applications. The final image processing results are either stored on the medical image database or displayed on the workstation as needed. The image processing applications could reside on the application server or on their own separate networked computer. Alternatively, some image processing applications could reside on the application server and some on separate networked computers.
